At the weekend I posted my back to work outfit and said I'd not even been back a week before I was browsing the New Look website and making an order. A pair of jeans and a blouse is one of the easy options for work so I bought a few blouses in different colours and patterns. I also bought three dresses that are pretty similar in hope that at least one would make it into my work wardrobe. I was pretty chuffed that everything I bought was in the sale and even better there was an added 10% off coupon at the time meaning some of the blouses were only £5.40!
Starting off with this absolute Spring staple, Lilac peplum blouse. It's one of my favourite colours at the moment and you can't go wrong with polka dots. I'm never 100% sure about peplum style tops but this one is actually long enough and a flattering fit. This top was £12 from £19.99 but the one thing giving me doubts is how big the sleeves are. They just seem so oversized.
My next blouse purchase is a Red Tie Sleeve Blouse. Unlike the lilac one this isn't chiffon but again it's a slight peplum style. I don't normally wear much red so this is quite different for my wardrobe and at £9 from £19.99 it's an affordable work option. The tie at the back helps make it a really flattering fit and I like the print being a mix between animal and polka dots.
The next two blouses are both bright and a bargain! I've already worn the Blue floral blouse to work as its ditsy print is so cheerful. The frills on the shoulders aren't too over the top and the high neck make it good for work. It's a really nice length and I dressed it down with a pair of white Vans. This was only £6 down from £19.99.
Again another blouse, this Green Animal print blouse also has the frills and print I seem to be loving. This was £6 from £22.99 but I'm not sure about the material, it seems to be the sort that creases quite easily and when I'm not a regular with an iron that's not too handy. This one might be going back.
A dress for work is so quick and easy to throw on and I was clearly drawn in by the smock style, the animal print and the beige/pink shades. The first dress is a Chiffon animal print dress with tiered skirt and black slip underneath. It's got the puff sleeves that are popular just now and a high neck with slight frill. It was only £12 from £25.99 so a big contender for making it into my keep pile.
The second dress is from the petite range, which is fine for me and my 5 foot 3 height. The Soft Touch Animal print smock dress really is that, so super soft! This has long sleeves so maybe better suited to the cooler months. I'm a big fan of the pastel pink/beige colour, quite nice for Spring. The smock style is so relaxed and comfortable but still looks work appropriate with some tights and boots. It was only £8 reduced from £17.99.
The last dress is the Puff sleeve animal print dress. This one is black with a pink pattern which I think is slightly harsher looking. Like the first one it has a tiered skirt but the sleeves are three quarter length. I also think I like this material the least, again that sort of a material that creases easier. It was £12 down from £25.99 though so definitely a bargain. Not sure I can justify keeping all three!
