New Nails | Rainbow Opal

I know it's September and there's lots of Autumn vibes chat going on, especially with the change in weather, but I'm just not ready to move away from the Summer nails this month. After getting rainbow ombre nails in July I was on the lookout for a similar style on Instagram and came across Rainbow Opal nails. I had to have them (especially as they'd match my Tie Dye VansWe followed a tutorial by As Pretty As Nails By Kelly on Instagram but switched out a few of the products. Let's just say I don't think I've ever had as many layers of gel on my nails before.

I decided that rainbow opal on all my nails would be too much, and take far too long, so I chose to have it on my ring and middle finger. On the rest of my nails I wanted something quite plain and neutral so that the rainbow would stand out. I went with Audrey by The Gel Bottle as it's a pale pink. This one is named after Audrey Hepburn and is such a classic pink shade.

The rainbow opal started off with a base coat of Daisy before the pastel shades were painted on with a brush. Kelly used bright colours in her tutorial but I went with the Pastel Collection from The Gel Bottle. Once the pink, yellow, green, blue and purple were painted on and cured we used a layer of Diana. This is a sheer white named after Princess Diana.

Next came the glitter and lines to create the opal effect. The glitter is Roseanna by Magpie Beauty. It's a gorgeous glitter made up of iridescent flakes. After a few layers of glitter with Diana on top white lines were added using Daisy. These were blurred out which gave the marble effect.

As always my nails have Builder in a Bottle as a base coat which give me the strongest nails, nearly every single one is my own nail now. There's also an Extreme Shine Top Coat on for the properly manicured look. I changed up the shape of my nails this time to coffin. I love them and I know I probably say it every time but these are up there as one of my favourites.
