Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift | Mascara Review

In February I talked about a few beauty products I wanted to try. I haven't got my hands on many, especially not the Dyson Airwrap Styler, but one more affordable product has made it's way into my life. I've been using Maybelline's The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara since the beginning of March and I thought it was about time I talked about the mascara that promises a salon lash lift look.

I've mentioned a few times that I've had allergic reactions to lash tinting and lash extensions so I don't even want to risk trying to get a lash lift. I still want to have long, lifted lashes that are dark and bold - quite different from the naturally fair and straight lashes that I've got.

This mascara is a fibre infused formula and I found that it added good length to my lashes. It's definitely a case of less is more. I found when I tried to add a few coats it started to clump and become heavy rather than build volume. That being said I still coat all my lashes with a couple of layers and achieve good coverage and well-defined lashes. Do I achieve a salon lash look? No but it's a good attempt.

I love the wand even though it's quite big it's still easy to use, reaching every little eyelash and doesn't take too long for a full application. It's got a double curve which works on adding the length, thickness and volume brushing through the lashes and in theory preventing clumping

The Falsies Lash Lift doesn't flake but unfortunately I find it smudges in the outer corners of my bottom lashes. I'm quite happy to compromise and use something else on my bottom lashes and keep this for the full volume and length on my upper lashes. It stays put all day and gives a bold look. As for taking it off, it melts away without too much hassle just using a bit of Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and a muslin.

It's worth noting that this is suitable for both sensitive eyes and contact lenses. Priced at just less than £10 it's middle of the road as far as drugstore mascaras go (though you're likely to find an offer or deal most of the time). I'd definitely buy it again and right now Superdrug has an offer on Maybelline, getting two products for £12
