Empties | Hair, Skincare & Makeup

I'm on a serious mission to try and declutter my dressing table and beauty product stash. I've got so many bottles and tubes that have been started and then forgotten about. One of the old school blog posts that used to give me a push to actually use up products before repurchasing or buying replacements was Empties posts. Fingers crossed bringing it back will give me the shove I need to get my products under control...

I'm not very good at taking time to put on a face mask, even though a sheet mask is the ultimate in convenience. I got a Soap and Glory set for Christmas and instead of putting the products away in drawers I put them within reach - the shower gel actually in the bathroom, the bath bomb actually next to the bath and this face mask sat on my dressing table. It's a vitamin C mask designed to illuminate and brighten the skin. Good for tired, stressed, dull skin. It smelt nice, had plenty of product but wasn't the best fitting sheet mask I've ever used. I felt like I had to keep moving it up my face. I don't think I'd buy this particular one again because it's not best suited to my skin but I've got a couple more Soap and Glory masks from my birthday that I'm definitely going to use. Once they're all done I might try the Miracle Moisture Mask

It's said this 'horse shampoo' can help your hair grow and obviously I wanted to test that out for myself.  It's a silicone free shampoo with a protein formula. This is meant to help nourish your hair while lathering at the scalp and so not stripping your natural oils. I got it for my birthday and started using it quite soon after so it lasted about 3 months which isn't too bad.
Did I see big results? No. It could be that I haven't used it long enough. I'm going to keep using the conditioner from the set and perhaps I'll repurchase the next time I need to buy a shampoo.

I've used three different shades of this concealer - C3, C4 and C5. Recently I started using a new facial tan oil and so needed to go from using C3 to C4. This one has been tucked away since last year, probably around September so its little wonder I've use this up. I'll definitely be repurchasing this, I've raved about it for the past two years.

I feel like most people have used this micellar water at some point in the past three years. Although I tend to use Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser I always have a micellar water on hand for quick makeup remover before, or instead when I'm feeling lazy.  This was only a 125ml bottle that started out as being for travel and instead of sitting unused in a toiletry bag got moved onto my dressing table. I like this micellar water and would definitely buy it again. It's affordable and works well.

Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Daring Black Mascara
I'm so bad at using up mascara. I seem to have a few on the go and completely forget about the 3 month expiration advice. I hate to admit I'm not actually sure when I started this mascara but it's all used up/all dried up now. It was a good mascara, really dark and easy to apply. Towards the end of the product it would smudge and flake after wearing it all day. That's probably to be expected when it's becoming more dried out. I want to try the Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift Mascara so I think I'll buy that before potentially repurchasing this.

Soap and Glory Puffy Eye Attack
This is another product I've had for a while mostly because it didn't really do much for me. It's an eye cream for puffy eyes and dark circles. I don't have puffy eyes which is probably why I wasn't a massive fan but I felt like it didn't do much for my dark circles. The packaging is quite deceiving, there's lots in there. It's quite moisturising and I felt like it sank in quite well. I won't be buying it again though.
