Rimmel Lash Accelerator | Endless Mascara Review

I had a really bad allergic reaction to eyelash tinting in the Summer and it wasn't my first. I got my eyelashes tinted ahead of getting eyelash extensions ready for my holiday and what would usually be a slightly red, swollen eyelid was the worst it's ever been, I didn't even go ahead with the extensions which would normally cause the reaction. I'm finally ready to admit defeat and have come to terms with a life of mascara and 'disposable' false lashes. I think my husband will be quite happy to know there will be no more hayfever-looking, scaly, red, inflamed eyelids.

Instead I'm on a mission to find the best mascaras to lengthen and darken my quite fair, otherwise unnoticeable lashes for a day to day basis and find my ultimate false lashes for nights out and special occasions. The latest mascara that I'm putting to the test is Rimmel's Lash Accelerator Endless.

Lash Accelerator is described as an ultra-lengthening mascara as it contains lash boosting Micro Fibres and a Grow Lash Complex to help the condition of your lashes every time you wear it. It had lots of positive reviews on both the Superdrug and Boots website and was only £7.99 so I bought one and was happy to start using it on a daily basis.

The formula isn't sticky or too wet, strangely enough it feels quite smooth which I suppose is the moisturising ingredients. It's a bold black colour which is brilliant for making my lashes stand out. I've found it really effective it making my lashes go from quite straight to being lengthened, separated and looking longer. It's definitely more of a lengthening mascara than a voluminous one so definitely bare that in mind when considering what look you prefer. The mascara doesn't smudge or flake throughout the day, especially on my bottom lashes which is where I sometimes struggle with after a long day at work.
Along with the formula, the wand has a lot to do with how well the mascara works. I found this wand quite easy to use on both my top and bottom lashes. It's not huge so it's easy to reach even the smallest of lashes. The bristles help to separate the lashes and keep the lashes clump free. You do have to be careful not to add a second coat of mascara too long after the first. If you apply the mascara with a zig zagging motion from root to top and apply the next coat after just a few seconds you can achieve impressive volume without the spider leg look.

At the end of the day this mascara washes away without too much work. Whether I'm using ARK Age Protect Cleanser or Liz Earle's Hot Cloth Cleanser Lash Accelerator doesn't leave me looking like a panda or require much rubbing. Some people have said they can feel a difference in how soft their lashes are after removing the mascara. I can't say I have noticed anything spectacular.
If you're looking for a mascara that can lengthen your lashes and last all day then I'd definitely recommend Rimmel Lash Accelerator at less than £8. If you're hoping to make your natural lashes grow then I wouldn't rely on the Grow Lash Complex and would recommend adding something extra into your makeup routine.

  1. Great review - that is crazy that you had an allergic reaction, that totally sucks! I recently started trying out Mad Hippie's mascara, and it is really great... I will have to keep this one in mind when that runs out.
