Primark Haul | May 2019

This weekend we had a bit of a retail therapy day buying some boring adult essentials like a rug, a colander and garden fence paint. Trying to make spending money in Debenhams, Dunelm and B and M a little more exciting I popped into Primark. Last week's beautiful weather had a big influence on my purchases, as did a few events I've got coming up in the next few weeks including a weekend in Edinburgh, hen parties and the end of term.

Right now I'm loving blazers, whether it's for work or going out for dinner or drinks. It's an effortless option to look really put together. This cream and navy check blazer is very different from any I've got in my wardrobe. I must admit I was a little surprised by the £20 price tag but it's quite good quality and the colours and fit look much more expensive.

Last year I wore a lovely stripe jumpsuit on the end of term celebrations (basically Christmas for teachers). This years plans have started to be mentioned and so naturally I've started thinking about what to wear, presenting a linen blend stripe midi dress. Because the partying starts pretty early in the afternoon I need something that will take me from afternoon to night time so a midi dress is good for that. The material is good for if it's a glorious hot day (which fingers crossed it will be). This midi dress is £15, which is just a little bit more expensive than last year's jumpsuit alternative.

Primark had quite a few nice blouses and with the weather we've been having I was in need of a short sleeved one. My favourite was the monochrome animal print blouse and it was only £6. This is the sort of top that I'll also be wearing with jeans at the weekend and shorts abroad if we ever get a holiday booked! Can you tell I'm getting a little impatient and need a trip to look forward to?

I would normally go straight for the High Waist Super Skinny Jeans when I go to Primark but last time I bought a pair of the Body Sculpt Skinny Jeans and I really liked how they fit so splashed out a little more than my usual £9 pair and spent £13. I was keen to have a new pair for heading off to Edinburgh in a couple of weeks. I'll be wearing them with my Spice Girls T-shirt for travelling.

Last but not least I got some more £4 vest tops. These are my most worn tops in Summer time and I was surprised that they'd brought out a few more prints and colours since the last time I was in Primark. You can see from the photo that the yellow one is quite sheer but hopefully they'll not be too bad. They're lightweight for in the sunshine, look good tucked into culottes, worn with jeans and under blazers or cardigans. Another one that I'll be packing for wearing with shorts abroad.
