How quick do the weekends pass, Monday again already! I can't quite believe we're into April, though I'm very happy that I'll finally have two weeks off work as of Friday. Last weekend was a busy one with lots of time spent with our families thanks to Mother's Day on Sunday and a surprise birthday party on Saturday night. I took full use of the fact that the flooring has been put down in our new kitchen and had somewhere new to take a few outfit pictures.
Saturday night saw us gathering together to celebrate my uncle's 70th birthday party. A night of drinks and dancing is suited to a jeans and nice top outfit. New Look has a whole section dedicated to it and this high neck, frill detail top is one I bought back in December for the festivities and never got round to wearing. You can't beat a good pair of black jeans and my River Island ones tick all the boxes. The Harper skinny jeans are high waisted and hold their shape so well. They might be a bit more expensive at £35 but they're a black pair that stay black. As for my shoes, I relied on my trusty New Look nude heels. A chunky heel is always the best option for a night on the dance floor.
We spent all of Sunday afternoon and evening celebrating Mother's Day. We started with my family, having lunch at a local hotel, before having Afternoon Tea with my husband's family. It was a beautiful day and the perfect opportunity to wear sandals for the first time this year. In contrast to my very monochrome outfit on Saturday night I went for my new Mela Mustard Floral Print Bardot Top. A good way to start off Spring.
I stuck to black jeans rather than blue denim but these ones are my favourite Primark ones - High Waist Super Skinny. My sandals were a recent purchase from Primark and were surprisingly comfortable but maybe a little chilly by the time we were walking home at 8pm. I've sneaked in a bit of the neon trend in my outfit but on my toes. I'm loving the neon pink pedicure.
