Wedding Guest | Navy & Nude

Wedding season has definitely started for my husband and me. On Saturday we attended our second wedding of 2019. It was a fantastic day celebrating with friends and worth the 500mile round trip to see the happy couple tie the knot.  The wedding was at a Stately Home on the outskirts of Edinburgh with amazing views of the Forth Bridges. Though the temperatures were still pretty cold for April time it stayed dry and allowed for a few photo opportunities in the vast grounds just outside of the bar and stunning ballroom.

Keeping my floral dresses for Summer weddings I opted for a navy lace dress. This Paper Dolls dress was one I wore at Christmas time but I think it works well in Spring time too. Navy and blue were very popular colours at the wedding and a bit like at our last wedding my husband matched his tie to my outfit. My shoes are nude court heels from New Look. They're a decent height (making me a little taller next to my husband who's over 6 foot) but still comfortable enough to wear all day and night. Attending a wedding with a group of boys means standing during the drinks and canapés because they're not bothered about finding a seat. It did also mean plenty of time on the dance floor so I shouldn't complain.

My fascinator is a nude one from Dorothy Perkins, it's on a headband which is definitely my favourite style for fascinators. It's so easy to wear with my hair curled using the BaByliss Pro Curling WandMy nude clutch bag is from Primark. This is a lovely statement clutch that's big enough for the essentials like my phone, lipstick and keys. It's also a good size for the little extras like the Photo Booth photos. You can't get the same bag from Primark anymore but you can get a faux leather bow clutch from Accessorize or a slightly lighter one from La Redoute that look pretty similar.

We might look a little worse for wear in the photobooth pictures but that's what happens after copious amounts of Edinburgh Rhubarb Gin and lemonade. My makeup was still 100% in place though and that's down to the favourites that were in my makeup bag in preparation for the trip.
