L'Oreal Infaillible | Foundation Review

The L'Oreal Infaillible 24Hr Fresh Wear Foundation featured in my Superdrug Haul last month and I've used it everyday since the parcel arrived, so I thought it was definitely worth sharing my full review. The liquid foundation with oxygen technology, available in 26 shades, is meant to be easy to apply, comfortable, transfer resistant and last up to 24 hours. At £10.99 this L'Oreal Paris foundation has a middle of the road price tag in Boots and Superdrug but it certainly isn't a middle of the road product.

If I'm going to be wearing foundation on a day to day basis I want a medium to full coverage but I don't want it to feel heavy or cakey. This liquid foundation starts off quite runny and with that doesn't take too much to cover your whole face. This also means it doesn't feel thick or suffocating - a breathable foundation with a good coverage. I was quite surprised how well this foundation set considering how it first appeared out of the pump. It's a satin-matte finish foundation but it looks healthy and smooth on my skin - definitely living up to it's Fresh Wear name.

My skin is dry and so choosing a satin-matte could be a bit risky but I find it to sit on my skin nicely and doesn't cling to any dry patches. Obviously a good moisturiser before hand is necessary when you've got dryness but the Infaillible 24hr Fresh Wear doesn't settle into fine lines or pores from my experience either. This foundation looks like real skin rather than a mask and doesn't go patchy after a couple of hours wear. It's definitely a medium coverage foundation but it's buildable if you're looking for party-proof rather than life-proof. 24 hours? I'm not sure, but a long day at work is enough for me to be satisfied.

Although there's 26 shades to choose from I don't think I've found the perfect one for me just yet. I feel like it oxidises slightly and as much as it's glowy it looks best when I'm wearing a bit of fake tan or gradual tan. It seems a bit mad that shade 110 isn't light enough for my skin tone in Spring time, but maybe if this sunnier weather hangs about a little longer I'll not need to buy a lighter shade at all.

So although I'm not quite matched up with my perfect shade yet, it's a comfortable to wear foundation that lasts. It's definitely comparable to (and better than) high end foundations at a price that you really can't argue with.
