Comic Relief's Red Nose Day is on the 15th of March and with TK Maxx supporting the charity with some Disney themed products I used it as the perfect excuse to buy a charity T-shirt and get some new purchases at the same time - well there's no point in ordering one item and paying delivery when I could buy a few more essentials and get free postage!
TK Maxx has loads of different Disney character fair-trade cotton T-shirts and accessories and I chose the Red Nose Day Minnie Mouse T-shirt. Of the £9.99 price tag, at least £4.50 goes to Comic Relief which helps vulnerable children and young people in the UK. The tee-hee-hee shirt is limited edition and though I'll wear it with a pair of jeans for RND at work, it's simple enough to wear at other times too. If a T-shirt isn't up your street then you can also get something a little more understated like a tote bag, notebook or water bottle. If Disney is your thing then why stop at a Tshirt when you can get pyjamas and tea towels!
I've been doing my fair share of Marie Kondo'ing to my dressing room and I've recently turned my attention to other rooms and cupboards in my house. I wanted to sort out the towels and bedding in our airing cupboard and I thought a couple of baskets would help. I bought two Feather Print Large Baskets which are a good size and deep interior. They were £9.99 each and are from the Bed Bath and Beyond designer Taylor Madison, so good quality.
Not quite storage, but along the same lines, I ordered the Wire Frame Laundry Basket. Our laundry basket was a pop up plastic one that I've had since I was in uni so it was about time we bought something that was a little more stylish. This is a pretty sturdy, isn't too big in the corner of our bedroom and fits a fair amount of clothes inside.
In the middle of February the work on our kitchen began so I made a few purchases to help accessorise the finished room. I started off with something practical and bought a new hand towel. There's no point spending lots of money on a towel for a kitchen so TK Maxx is a good place to look and I bought the Grey Plush Hand Towel for £4.99
We're planning on having a few little rabbit decorations and I loved the Hip and Hop Bunny Motif Tea Towels. They were £5.99 for a set of two and are the perfect colours to fit in with our colour scheme too. You can get loads of rabbit themed things in TK Maxx around Easter time and although these specific tea towels are sold out already they've got some quirkier ones still in stock and bright yellow ones from Hip and Hop too.
My last purchase was a bit of an impulse but inspired by the pink on the tea towels. I knew that I wanted some faux flowers in our kitchen or dining room and the colours in this Artificial Hot Pink Orchid was the deal breaker for me. The orchid is quite big, doesn't look overly fake and comes in a nice looking plant pot. It might have been a little bit pricier at £24.99 but I think some faux flowers that are cheap look cheap.
