Babyliss Pro Curling Wand | Big Curls & Waves

I love having curled hair, whether it's all over for a bold night out look or loose waves for a day-to-day style. I much prefer a curling wand to curling tongs or rollers and find they are quickest to use and hold a curl in my hair most effectively. My most used wand is the BaByliss Wand. I've had it since I was in uni, so at least 7 or 8 years and it's still going strong. I also had a larger Lee Stafford wand but unfortunately it stopped working at Christmas time and I was feeling a little lost without it. Because the BaByliss one was such a favourite I decided to invest a little more and bought the BaByliss PRO Titanium Expression Large Conical Wand at the beginning of this year.
The Babyliss Pro Large Wand has a bigger barrel, though it's still a tapered style, it ranges from 32 to 19mm compared to the 25-13mm of my other wand. This give a much bigger curl or wave and also makes it perfect for my long hair. The barrel is titanium with ceramic heaters which is meant to achieve faster styling as the hair doesn't slide and regulated high temperatures for long lasting styles. I've definitely found this quick and easy to use with perfect results time after time.

There is 11 digital temperature settings that are easy to choose with the plus and minus buttons which is standard for BaByliss curling wands. The top temperature is 210°C  and it's quick to heat up. As much as it's bad for my hair I tend to use the hottest settings for reduced styling time and results that will last all day and night. And it definitely does, second and even third day hair (thanks dry shampoo) can look as good as the first day with curls that stay put.

I've been using the wand in a few different ways to achieve different looks. I divide my hair up in layers and curl further up the hair for flawless large, defined curls. For free flowing curls that look a little peachier and wavy I curl the ends of my hair in bigger sections. Either way is quick and easy to do, with long lasting results.

The cable is really long at nearly 3m and has a swivel cord which makes movement really convenient. I don't love the fact that the temperature screen doesn't light up so it's very easy to forget that the wand is on which quickly becomes dangerous. The wand does, however, have auto shut off for added safety but I'm not 100% sure how long it is before they turn off.

The Pro Wand comes with a heat protection glove but after using curling wands for close to a decade I don't bother with it and could probably count on just one hand the number of times I've been burnt. It also comes with a heat protectant mat that rolls up into a storage pouch which is perfect for protecting your dressing table or for travel.
As for the overall look, the Large Pro Wand is sleek, sturdy and has the bonus added touch of rose gold buttons. It might be from the Pro range and have a slightly high price tag attached but the BaByliss PRO Titanium Expression Large Conical Wand has quickly become one of my most used hair tools and an investment worth making.
