We're two weeks in to 2019 and I've already visited Primark! We had a family weekend away, staying in a chalet with a hot tub, to celebrate my brother's 30th birthday. It was a lovely chilled out weekend and I somehow still managed to sneak in some retail therapy. In my defence Primark was the only shop I went to but still, this better not be a sign of how my spending is going to be through 2019...
Like lots of others I'm feeling motivated to get back to exercise and eating on plan after over indulging at Christmas. A new pair of workout leggings are a great motivator to get back on the treadmill for me and I've gone for something a little more exciting than my usual plain black pairs of leggings. These reflective camo style print full length leggings are from the Alice Liveing collection. They're a lovely soft material and really comfortable and only cost £8. One of the most important things for me eating on the Slimming World plan is meal planning. I plan out our meals for the weeks are write a shopping list to match making sure we'll have everything for the week. In theory it saves us a bit of money so that we have less waste. I just finished one of my meal plan/shopping list note pads at the end of the year, which was actually from Primark, so I was quite chuffed with this Disney themed 'You Got This' pad for £3.50. Even more so because the shopping list is separate so I can take it to the shops and leave the meal list on the fridge with handy magnet on the back.
My next two purchases are being added to my big collection of everyday items - A-Line skirts and black skinny jeans. I wear A-Line skirts with a long sleeve T-shirt tucked in, tights and boots quite a lot for work. It's an on trend, but comfortable outfit, that suits my body shape. Lots of my skirts are suede effect or denim but I didn't have any cord ones so obviously I could justify buying the pink cord button front A-Line skirt for £10. If you've never tried Primark's £9 Super High Waist Skinny jeans, then you must. These are my most item of clothing, hands down. They come in different lengths, which is good for my short legs, and the high waist is good for helping the jeans fit at my thinnest part. For the price they actually last quite a long time but I like to buy a replacement pair for the ones that are really worn out. I do dye the ones that end up looking very washed out and grey.
My next purchase is for my night out wardrobe. Although I don't normally buy things for nights out or special occasions without something specific in mind I couldn't resist getting this dress. It caught my eye in Primark before Christmas time and now it was in the sale, with only one left in my size, I had to buy it. This black midi dress has a wrap front at the bust, a tie at the waist and a crossover skirt making it quite a flattering fit. The subtle animal print makes it bit more exciting than a standard little black dress. It was £10 reduced from £20 and I'm starting to think it might be a potential wedding guest dress with the right shoes and accessories.
Last but not least it wouldn't be a Primark haul without some pyjamas. I sure didn't need any more new pyjamas considering I got ones for my birthday and in the Black Friday sales but when I saw all of the red stickers in the nightwear section of Primark I was drawn in. So many of the pyjama sets were reduced, some of the Christmas ones were a quarter of the price. I decided not to get the Grinch pyjamas I was eyeing up and instead went for a Disney Aristocats set that were very much me. The check print pyjama bottoms are long, soft and pastel colours while the top is long sleeved and says Too Fabulous. I might not wear the top out of Winter months but I'll probably wear the trousers all year round and the set was only £5 reduced from £11 so it was worth it.
