Personalised Presents | Gifts for the Little Ones

It's the middle of November and I am officially in full on Christmas mode. My decorations might not be allowed up just yet but I've started watching Christmas movies, my Christmas shopping is well underway and the crafts have started at school. I love to start getting organised before December so that I can really enjoy the lead up to Christmas Day and the festivities involved without worrying about whether a present is going to get delivered in time. This year we've got an extra present to buy and one of the most exciting ones - for our baby niece. I love a personalised present at the best of times but when it's gifts for the little ones then it's even more special. I've got three personalised presents that are perfect for children regardless of whether it's their first Christmas or tenth.

Buying for a first Christmas can be a little tricky, especially when that baby is just a few months old. The perfect way round this can be a personalised present that will be treasured. Without a doubt the Personalised Christmas Story Collection book is one of those gifts that will be kept year in, year out. This book isn't just one story but a collection of five stories which feature the child's name throughout, including in the illustrations.

The A4 book comes in a beautiful cream gift box with foil embossing of Merry Christmas on the front. On the front page you can add a personal message, this is where we've put the little reminder that it's her first Christmas. The book is beautifully made and the illustrations are stunning. There's loads of opportunity for discussion and it really does make the countdown to Christmas magical.

The five stories include 'Your Letter to Santa', 'When Santa Got Stuck Up the Chimney', 'Twas the night Before Christmas', 'St Nicholas' and 'The Little Donkey and the Nativity Story'. As a primary teacher I love that the mix of stories includes classics, the real meaning of Christmas and some Christmas magic and fun. I look forward to reading this book to her when she visits every Christmas. Well worth the £29.99 price tag.

Delivery was really quick from IntheBook.co.uk, it arrived within two weeks, which is brilliant when you consider the amount of personalisation that goes into it. If your wee one already has Christmas stories there's lots of other Children's books that can be personalised. Maybe Disney Princesses will make its way onto her book shelf in the future!

Another gorgeous personalised present that can be used year after year is a Personalised Christmas Eve Box. This amazing solid wood box with a colourful Christmas design isn't actually for Ailidh, this is for my husband and I for our first Christmas as Mr and Mrs (and then for when we've got our own little family). Christmas Eve boxes are a brilliant tradition for any little girl or boy.

This square box is 28cm by 28cm, so just short of a ruler, and 14cm high. This is the perfect size for stuffing full of Christmas fun like pyjamas, DVDs and sweeties. The box has chrome plated hinges and a chrome plated latch at the front making it stylish but secure. This can sit proudly underneath the Christmas tree waiting for the magic of Christmas Eve.

Delivery takes a little longer for a personalised item like this. All of the wording on the top of the box is personalised and the hard wood box has a smooth sanded finish. You can upgrade the box to a white finish or go for a completely different design or size on the laser boutique website. Delivery within the UK is free but I'd recommend getting your order in quickly if you want to add a box like this to your little ones' Christmas fun.

I love Christmas pyjamas but when a little one grows out of their clothes so fast I wanted to get something that would last a little longer and I think I hit the jackpot with this Personalised Baby Robe. It's hard to believe how affordable this soft and cosy dressing gown is from Studio. With a saving of £19 you can buy a baby robe for £5.99 with the name embroidered for free.

This comes in four different colours, three different sizes and personalisation can be up to 11 letters long. I love how my niece looks in yellow and it makes a change from me always choosing pink for her too! The cute little hood with ears melts my heart. If your little one is a bit bigger you can get a personalised robe for any age from 2 to 13 with lots of designs to choose from.

Another personalised gift that has pretty quick delivery but it does cost a little more than I like to pay so definitely check out the rest of the website before you rush into an order. If you love personalised gifts as much as me there's a huge personalised range and it doesn't have to be just for the wee ones, there's plenty for the big ones who like a wee tipple!
