Maybelline Tattoo Brow | Pomade Review

I've never been that bothered by my eyebrows before. I typically got them threaded every few months and used Benefit Gimme Brow for a night out but they were basically left to do their own thing most of the time. Just before our wedding in July I had my eyebrows tinted and waxed and it seemed to have triggered a switch in my head. All of a sudden I've wanted to put a bit more effort into my brows to actually give them some shape and make them look there. I've heard so much about the Maybelline Tattoo Brow Gel but somehow ended up buying the Maybelline Tattoo Brow Lasting Colour Pomade instead. This new, waterproof brow product has ended up being a good purchase mistake to make.

Unlike the Tattoo Brow Gel which lasts for a few days the Tattoo Brow Lasting Colour Pomade is an eyebrow product that give fantastic long lasting results, which can be wiped away at the end of the day. And most exciting for me it comes in light blond. Having really light blonde hair, and naturally fair eyebrows, I didn't want an eyebrow colour that was going to be a complete contrast and look completely unnatural. I also needed a product that was going to be easy to use as a bit of a novice.

This new product to the Tattoo Brow range comes with a double ended brush with a small angled brush that has a spoolie on their other side. The brow pomade gives you the chance to be a bit more flexible in results than the Brow Gel. The angled brush allows you to paint hair-line strokes and then brush them out with the spoolie. This means you can have as subtle or dramatic brows as you want. The pomade lasts all day but best of all it's waterproof and smudge proof so no dodgy looking brows by the end of the day.

From natural brows, to a hint of colour and then onto brows with more definition, shape and impact. I'm loving experimenting with different brush strokes. The little angled brush is really easy to create a shape and add precise strokes, lines and colour. The gel pigment is creamy and glides on making it a good product for 3 simple steps in the morning before work for a soft look or then for a bold, full brow look.

As I said I was delighted to be able to get a Light Blond shade but it also comes in 7 other shades including an Auburn which is good for any redheads who struggle to find a shade that's not too dark. Also all the standard shades of brown including soft, medium, ash and a black brown. Eyebrow shades are definitely not one shade fits all so I love that there's actually a few to choose from. Maybe they'll follow suit with the OG Tattoo Brow Gel Tint.

If you've been considering buying Anastasia Dipbrow or Benefit's Ka-Brow but don't want to splash out then Maybelline Tattoo Brow Pomade is a good alternative (dupe, if you must). At £9.99 full price, but often on offer at Superdrug or Boots it's an affordable product that will quickly become a firm favourite in your makeup bag for nights out or the everyday face - well at least it has in mine!
