Autumn Outfits | Red Jackets

It's funny how different seasons are so closely associated with different colours, especially within clothing and fashion. Mustard, beige, navy. Another one of those colours that always comes out in Autumn and I seem to avoid the rest of the year is red. I'm just not a red person but I'm drawn to those rich cosy tones as soon as the leaves start changing colour and falling. Time to add red to my wardrobe with two red jackets perfect for Autumn from Fashionmia - it's a bit of an Aladdin's Cave for Women's Fashion Jackets

My first one is a Red Leather Jacket. A leather jacket (well faux leather) is always a good option for those crisp, dry Autumnal days that you can get away with no hood but when another layer is definitely needed. Leather jackets always make for a put together outfit and a bit of red can inject some colour into an otherwise boring monochrome outfit. I love how this one looks with a checked scarf, with hints of red. There's lots of nice hardware around the sleeves, collar and pockets. It's not too thin that you'd be cold in the dropping temperatures but it's also not thick and bulky.  I could have gone a size up, more for the length of the sleeves than the rest of the jacket, but it's definitely something to be aware of. I ordered my usual size so on the whole it's fairly sized.

The next jacket, the Red wool style coat, it's much more suited to a work outfit or something a little more fancy or sophisticated like a meal out. The colour of this one is darker and more blue toned leaning towards burgundy shades. I think this colour suits me a little better. This coat is another well sized coat but it's much thinner and felt a bit cheaper. The sleeves were a good length and the pockets were a bonus not being false pockets like some coats. Unfortunately this coat only has one magnetic button for fastening and it doesn't look good closed because of this. I won't be wearing this jacket into Winter as it just won't keep me warm enough which is a shame but for now, and paired with a scarf it's an on-trend option.
