Autumn Vibes | Nine September Favourites

Like most of the twitter, instagram and the country in general, turning the calendar to September gave me instant Autumn vibes. The  good weather hung around a little bit but I think it's fair to say it's time to embrace the season and wave goodbye to my flip flops and midi dresses. With a November birthday I love this season and I'm totally fine with embracing the colder weather, darker nights and festive feelings. Even just a couple of weeks into September I'm already noticing the little things that are my Autumnal favourites.
The first thing I started organising in my house was my candles. I've got loads of different brands and scents and the darker nights are the perfect excuse to light them. I was really excited to use my Woodwick Salted Caramel candle again, it's such a sweet scent and the crackle of Woodwick definitely adds a bit of cosiness to the living room.

Does anyone else associate Harry Potter with Autumn and Winter? ITV definitely seemed to be thinking along the same tracks as me and have started showing the Harry Potter movies each Saturday night. Perfect movies for a quiet night in.

Who am I kidding, I was drinking cups of tea all through the Summer but there's something nice about a cup of tea after work to warm you up and help you wind down. I love my new Emma Bridgewater Mr and Mrs mugs and it was even part of our wedding vows that my husband will make me a cup of tea after dinner every night.

TV is always better in Autumn and Winter and right now I'm hooked on BBC's Bodyguard. My husband and I have been watching it together and we've been on the edge of our seats through the drama series. If you've not watched it yet I'd highly recommend catching up on BBC iplayer before the six-part series continues.

Fruit and yogurt is my go-to breakfast through the Summer months but moving into Autumn has made me want to try more warm breakfasts and I am obsessed with Slimming World Waffles. Syn free using my healthy extra A and topped with quark and Walden Farms Caramel sauce this is the best weekend breakfast. I feel like I'm back enjoying the all inclusive breakfasts in Mexico.

The flip flops have been packed away and they're replaced with ankle boots and I quite like how comfortable and effortless they are whilst matching most outfits. I'm really looking forward to getting my over the knee boots back out too.
Tuesday nights are all about Great British Bake Off on Channel 4 but boy it's hard to catch up with a cup of tea and not crave all the cakes, biscuits and pastries. It's a good job I've got a decent stash of Alpen Light bars, Skinny Whips and Fibre Ones to keep me on the Slimming World straight and narrow.

A night on the sofa is so much better with some cosy blankets. We've got plenty for my husband, me and my rabbit! Matalan have some of the nicest ones and I think it's time my current one gets a little upgrade. It's a toss up between a Supersoft Sherpa Fleece throw or a Faux Fur throw.

As it gets a little cooler I love throwing on a blazer to finish off an outfit. I feel like they look a bit more put together than a cardigan and it doesn't matter too much what the rest of the outfit looks like - whether it's jeans and a t-shirt or plain dress the blazer does all the work. New Look has some really nice ones in this year.
