My 7 weeks Summer holidays are over, the nights are getting darker earlier and the temperature is starting to drop. It's all signs that Autumn is coming and it's time to wave goodbye to Summer. My back to school shopping came in the form of buying clothes from New Look. It won't be long until my flip flops are replaced with boots so I took advantage of my delivery pass (and husband's student discount) and bought some clothes ready to transition to Autumn.
Both of these floral tops are from the brands at New Look, are very much for work, and were in the sale. The AX Paris Black Floral Top was £10 down from £22. The Mela Blue Floral Blouse was £15 down from £20. The half sleeves are a flattering length and make it good transition tops. Both tops are loose fitting, are girly looking and go well with a pair of jeans. A quick, fashionable option for work.
When I think of Autumn/Winter Burgundy is my must have colour. It's rich and cosy and looks good in dresses, tops or trousers. I loved the simplicity of the Burgundy Choker Neck Top. It was only £12.99 and it's one of those tops that you can just throw on with a pair of skinnys, heels and clutch bag you're set for a night of dinner and cocktails. The cut out front is a bit low to be wearing it to work.
Jumpers are an obvious option for Autumn and the Colour Block Jumper caught my eye straight away. It was only £12.99 which actually isn't far off what a jumper like this would be in Primark. It's a lightweight knit which is good for when it's just a little cooler and I bought the petite version so that it's not over sized. This is a good one for Mondays in work when school is colder and I would rather be chilling on the sofa at home.
From cosy and comfy to getting ready for nights out I bought the £12.99 Off White Bodysuit. I'm loving the trouser trend and bodysuits always work best to finish off the outfit because you don't have to worry about tucking your top in neatly. This V notch bodysuit is really popular and has sold out in black, red and yellow already. Hopefully that means it's a good one.
Speaking of trousers I bought some from the girls section. The Yellow Stripe Culottes in age 12/13 fit me like a pair of 6 or 8 culottes would! I love the colours and they'll definitely be worn into September and October for any nights outs or when I want to look a little more dressed up. Culottes are so comfortable and make a nice change from wearing skinny jeans all the time.
I'm so glad I bought this Black Lightweight Puffer Jacket from New Look before we went to San Francisco because I ended up wearing it every day. It's hard to find a jacket that has a hood but isn't super thick and more suitable for winter. I sized down in this jacket, I think it's a little oversized and I wanted it to be properly fitted. I wish the pockets had zips but that's a minor complaint. Simple, casual and shower proof - exactly what you need in Scotland in Autumn.
You got some great bargains there! I love the Autumn ranges coming into the shops at the moment.
