Honeymoon Packing | Outfit Ideas

When I pack for going on holiday I like to have an idea of outfits and that what's in my case is going to go together so obviously I've done this while packing for my honeymoon. We're going to San Francisco and Mexico and leave on the Monday after our wedding. With a post-wedding gathering on the Sunday we really need to have everything organised before the big day so I thought I'd snap some photos in the process. Does anyone else actually lay out outfit ideas? Quite a lot of my honeymoon suitcase is made up of new clothes, does anyone else fall into the holiday shopping trap!?

I bought a Bride cover up from Real Unique for wearing on my hen weekend but I ended up not wearing it all because our hotel didn't actually allow hen parties. I will definitely be wearing it around the pool in Mexico before it's too late to be the bride anymore. One of my new bikini sets is from Primark and I absolutely love the bright yellow and floral print. I'll be keeping my scalp protected from the sun with my big hat from PrimarkOnto a night time outfit I love the maxi playsuit style and this floral print one from New Look is gorgeous. I've got some low block heeled sandals ready to wear with this one for at night time.

This jumpsuit from Primark is already a favourite of mine so I'll definitely be packing it for going away. This is quite versatile so I might wear it during the day in San Francisco or at night in Mexico. It looks good with my rose gold sandals from New Look but I'm not sure they'd be comfortable with a full day walking about the city. Another culottes outfit, and another Primark outfit. These culottes are really lightweight and airy they'll be brilliant for during the day in San Francisco. I'm also tempted to pair them with a cute Primark vest top and the New Look heeled sandals for a meal out. I don't often wear proper high heels when I go abroad with my partner, it's not like we're going out clubbing. However, I feel like I'll want to get all dressed up on our honeymoon and a skirt, bodysuit and heels is a good option. The skirt is from River Island, the bodysuit is from Boohoo (and really comfortable) and the heels are from New Look.

I feel like playsuits are the perfect holiday outfit and this year I've got three that I can't wait to wear. The first one is perfect as a day outfit, it's really comfortable and the shorts aren't too short. It's from IntheStyle but unfortunately the button at the back has pinged off so I'll need to get my sewing kit out before this goes in the case. A little pair of sandals from New Look is a good match for this outfit. The cold shoulder playsuit from New Look is the sort of one that can be dressed up or dressed down. With my big pink hat and rose gold sandals I'd be sorted for a wander around during the day, or with some heeled sandals and my Michael Kors bag I could be ready for a meal out in the evening. It'll be handy to have some pieces that I can wear in both destinations. My last playsuit is 100% a daytime outfit and it screams Summer to me. It's from Quiz and has the cutest leaf print. It was fab in the heatwave earlier in the Summer so it'll be good in Mexico. Throw on some sparkly sliders and I'm ready to head to the pool.

One of the things we've spoken about doing is going to the waterpark in Mexico. A swimming costume is a must for me if we're going on all the rides so I've packed a simple black one from Primark, along with some comfortable chino style shorts and my New Look sliders. Possibly the least stylish outfit but most practical. The dress I'm most excited for and is definitely packed for a special honeymoon night out is from Quiz. It's a midi dress, is a beautiful blue colour and floral print. It's one I would feel most comfortable wearing heels with. My last outfit idea is a dress I've been dying to wear again - a yellow maxi dress from Pretty Little Thing. Maybe I'll wear this one in Mexico near the start of the trip before I've had the chance to work on my tan that much. Because I'm a shorty I feel like this dress looks and fits best with heels so I've got a chunky tan pair packed.

I know San Francisco is famous for its fog and with a boat trip booked to Alcatraz I think I'll need some bigger layers packed, a hoody or lightweight jacket maybe. You can't go wrong with denim shorts and a pair of white trainers so they'll be in there too. Am I missing anything really obvious? Time to get a packing list printed...
