If I could only have two makeup products I would 100% choose concealer and mascara, in fact if I've got eyelash extensions I would be happy to just apply a bit of concealer and go. My skin isn't awful and my freckles don't look too bad but my one bug bare is my under eye circles. It's all down to the fact that I've got fair skin tone and hollows under my eyes, it's genetic and not much I can do about it - apart from layer the concealer up! Because of that I'm always on the lookout for a new concealer, something fuller coverage than the last, and low and behold I bought Vichy Dermablend SOS Cover Stick.
Normally I opt for a liquid concealer or a cream in a pot but Vichy Dermablend Corrective Stick jumped out at me for it's full coverage claims, dermatologist recommendations and or appearing in the makeup bag of makeup artists. The SOS Cover Stick is available in 5 different shades and I have the lightest one, 15 Opal. It's a long lasting corrective concealer which is designed to cover medium to severe skin conditions including spots, dark circles, scars, hyper pigmentation and even tattoos. For me it's all about covering and concealing dark shadows under my eyes and boy does it do a good job!
The Dermablend SOS is really easy to apply and quite buildable too, but it's easy to get carried away and get a bit cakey and creased. If you apply it properly though it's a really lightweight concealer that blends in nicely looking radiant and hydrated. It's a hypoallergenic concealer with no fragrances and alcohol so it's fab for sensitive skin like mine. If I'm looking for a completely flawless look it tends to be for a night out or special occasion and so it's got to have staying power. This Vichy concealer is meant to last 14 hours (though I've not quite tested it to that extreme), it certainly was put to the test in the heat of Portugal and a night of partying. It stayed put and looked almost the same by the end of the night as the beginning. The SPF 30 was handy too for during the day.
Vichy Dermablend Corrective Stick is a little more expensive than my usual drugstore purchases, but it's not quite as expensive as high end brands like Benefit or Smashbox, so a middle of the road price tag. When you've got a product that's so high coverage and stays in place so long it's worth spending a little more. I can't comment on whether it really does cover tattoos or skin conditions like rosacea but I'm delighted with this camouflage concealer for blemishes and the purple shades under my eyes.
