What's In My Weekend Away Bag | City Break

Last year I did quite a lot of travelling whether it's weekends, mini breaks or an all inclusive week in the sun, I ticked off Belfast, Liverpool, Turkey and Germany. This year I seem to be doing the same with our honeymoon booked for the summer, my hen weekend in Portugal, a trip to London in October and Krakow for New Years. On top of that we're visiting Edinburgh nearly every month with my husband-to-be going to Open University classes. Now that we've made the trip I few times I feel like I've got my weekend away packing down to a T so here's What's in my Weekend Away Bag for a City Break.

When we go away for the weekend we tend to leave after work on a Friday and arrive back home late on Sunday night. For that I don't need loads of stuff, and have to make sure there's plenty of space in the boot for some retail therapy so I share a bag with my fiancĂ©. We use a brown check travel case from Loveherstyle. It's a brilliant size for both of us and has wheels and a pull handle if we've got a bit of walking to do. On the outside of the bag I've got a pom pom keyring from River Island, that just makes my fiancĂ© feel super masculine when he carries the bag, haha.

When I'm packing my bag I think night time, Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday. From that I can pack all the essentials. When we arrive in Edinburgh after work it's normally really late so it's not long until I'm changing into my pyjamas and ready to head to bed. I've packed my checked pyjama set from Boux Avenue. Then onto Saturday's supplies. My Tangle Teezer is an absolute essential as well as my ghd straighteners. I love that I can mix up my hairstyles with just my straighteners as I've finally mastered the loose curls.
When I spend the day in Edinburgh I do loads of walking, getting my 10,000 steps is no problem at all so I need comfortable shoes. On this trip I packed my new Adidas Cloudfoam trainers, as well as ripped jeans and long sleeve top from River Island. These shoes are so comfortable but pretty stylish too, because I'm not really a trainer sort of girl. These will definitely be packed for all the walking in San Francisco. On Saturday night we normally head out for dinner and a few drinks so I've got a pair of boots from New Look to feel a bit more dressed up. I've also got a top for a 'jeans and nice top outfit', this floral one is from Tesco. I don't like to have a big bag in Edinburgh at night so I've packed my Michael Kors cross body bag, Zalando have a similar one

Then onto Sunday's outfit. We tend to go to Livingston Designer Outlet and Almondvale shopping centre before heading back up the road. There's so many good shops there and we're able to stop for something to eat before the long journey begins. So my shoes on Sunday really depend on how my feet are feeling after Saturday. I can either stick with the trainers or brave the heeled boots. Either way I've got my trust Super High Waist Skinny jeans from Primark, a simple vest top and a cardigan from Boohoo
I try to keep my makeup and toiletries to a minimum for the weekend. I normally fit it all in my Ted Baker Makeup Bag, it's a nice long shape for makeup brushes as well as bigger products like the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. My other skincare consists of a L'Oreal Hydra  Genius and SkinPep Eye Serum. My makeup for the weekend is L'Oreal Infallible Foundation, L'Oreal Infallible Concealer, Makeup Revolution Concealer and Benefit Hoola Bronzer. Having Russian Volume Lashes means I've got no eye makeup with me, which is definitely a time and space saver. My last few toiletries are Soap and Glory Clean on Me, Dove Maximum Protection Deodorant and a Batiste Dry Shampoo
