Summer at Pretty Little Thing | Wedding Guest Dresses

Wedding season is fast approaching, and I'm not just talking about my wedding this time. We've had a few other invites for weddings this year, we've definitely hit that age where we're planning our summer holidays around what weddings we're attending. My favourite thing after returning the RSVP is planning my outfit. I like to wear different colours and styles when I've got a few different weddings to attend and Pretty Little Thing are on fire when it comes to Wedding Guest Dresses*.

Although I tend to pick out different colours and styles (so that photos don't all look the same when my fiancĂ© wears his kilt) I have a few different go-to options. I love florals, especially for Summer, and if the dress isn't covered in bright flowers then lace is my go-to material. Pretty Little Thing has so many options and loads that meet my criteria. Choosing a dress can be a bit of a process because once you've picked out a gorgeous dress you've got to think shoes, accessories and your hair so you don't want to spend a fortune. That's one of the best things about Pretty Little Thing. Their dresses are all amazing quality but you barely ever have to pay full price on their already affordable price tags, their website seems to have a new discount code every week offering you anything from 10% up to 50% off certain items. They also offer up to 15% off for student through Unidays.
Starting with the florals... my absolute favourite dress was the Mustard Floral Maxi Dress. It's probably got a lot to do with the fact that yellow is my go-to colour this season but I think the style, fit and floral print lend a helping hand a little. The £30 maxi dress has good length straps and I had absolutely no worries about showing off my strapless bra. The material is quite light and thin, but not at all see-through.  The extreme split is quite extreme but I didn't have to worry about flashing anything! The sizing of this dress is perfect, it fits me like a glove, however the length is a little long for my 5"2 height but nothing a good pair of heels can't help. There's a few different colours in the floral print which is brilliant when it comes to accessorising. I picked out the pinks and went for a blush pink pair of platform sandals - perfect for being on your feet all day and night.

I feel like the Blue floral Midi Dress is quite classic wedding guest dress and absolutely stunning. The dress looks quite sophisticated with it's midi length, pretty florals and muted blue/grey colour. I love the frill around the bust and the V cut out isn't too low showing off more than you should at a wedding. The material is quite thick and good quality, but not too warm that you'll be sweating through the day. The silky material makes this dress look much more expensive than £22! Again, I picked out a size 10 and it's a brilliant fit. I accessorised with navy, wearing a fascinator from Quiz and bag from eBay, then some classy heels from Dune.

There can be mixed opinions about wearing black to a wedding. I'm in camp 'as long as it's not a white dress'. I think the Black Frill Bodycon Dress is a gorgeous option for a wedding and it's only £30. I love the high neckline and frills to keep it nice and girly. The material is really soft and fits in all the right places, so again another true to size Pretty Little Thing dress. With a black dress you're free to go for any shoes, bag and hair accessories. It's not often I'd wear my hair straight for a special occasion but I think it looked quite nice with this dress. I wore the sparkliest shoes ever from Dune and a nude Michael Kors bag.

Another colour I love is navy. I think It's because it compliments my blonde hair and because I can accessorise with nude/blush pink. The Navy Lace Panel Bodycon Dress is absolutely stunning and a really flattering dress. The high neck shows off my shoulders and I think this dress looks best with my hair up too. The size 10 is a good fit but the dress is a little too long between the neck and bust and I felt like I was pulling at it to stop my bra being on show. I think taping it in place would have been an easy and quick solution. The tiered shape skirt is really cute and I think this makes it look a little more summery. This was the most expensive dress at £40 but even then that's a pretty good deal. I paired it with a nude fascinator from Dorothy Perkins, nude heels from New Look and a Primark nude bag.
