New Look Haul | Workwear, Spring Update & Nights Out

New Look is one of my favourite places to buy clothes from. Their sizing is good, their style matches mine and the prices are affordable. I must admit I prefer buying from their website, I seem to find more and there's no raking around in the sale rales (being able to use my other half's student discount is a bonus too). I made a big order when their sale started recently and couldn't wait to pick it up. Has anyone else noticed they've changed the goal posts for their delivery prices and you can't get free delivery unless you've signed up to their Delivery Pass? I'm not sure how I feel on that one...

The reason I went onto the New Look website in the first place was to update my workwear wardrobe. My usual choices for work are a dress or jeans and a blouse. I hadn't bought any new dresses in a while and a few of mine were starting to tire and others were too big. I had the Floral Print Jersey Dress with lattice back in my saved items for a fortnight or so and you know what they say, if you can't stop thinking about it you've got to buy it? £17.99 is a good price for a skater style dress that I can wear with tights now and with flip flops when the seasons change. As for the Blue Vanilla Tulip Dress it was in the sale for £15 down from £26. I have a Burgundy dress in this exact style from Blue Vanilla and I love it so a little sale bargain is justified.

Continuing on with the florals I fell in love with the Floral Tiered Sleeve Top that was in the new in women tops section. This is me in a T-shirt when it comes to Spring and Summer. Light pink, floral and a floaty material. I was quite impressed that it was only £12.99. The only problem is it's quite oversized. It drowns me a little, mostly because I'm a shorty. I think I'll have to look into the next size down to see how it compares. Another top that's similar style is a the white Lace Yoke T-shirt. It was in the sale for £8 down from £15.99 and really is a lovely top. Unfortunately it just doesn't fit right, the lace goes down too far at my chest and shows half of my bra. This one is going back.

My next couple of picks were perfect. They fit well and are both good quality. The grey lace shoulder top is from Mela London and was a little bargain at £12 down from £24. This sort of top is good for those days that you aren't sure what's going to happen. You're heading out for lunch but day drinks are on the horizon. It's soft and comfortable but the lace on the shoulders add a bit of girliness and dress it up a little. As for the White Cami this is a Spring and Summer essential. For £9.99 you've got a top you can wear for any occasion, just make sure you've got a strapless bra on hand.

Onto some going out clothes I was drawn in by the sale items, especially this dress that was £10 down from £24.99. It's a Ruched Front Mesh Floral Dress with a slip underneath. I took a bit of a risk because it's in the petite range and I thought being 5 foot 3 it would be an alright length but unfortunately it was just too short. I wouldn't be able to wear this without tights and without showing my bum. I'm gutted because the rest of the dress fit perfectly, the  mesh little sleeves were cute and the ruched front was flattering.

My favourite sale purchase is one of those 'jeans and a nice top' tops. The Asymmetric Twist Top was £8 down from £15.99. I've already worn it with blue jeans and over the knee boots and it was great for taking me from dinner to drinks. I'll be wearing this lots. The next sale top however didn't go so well. The Floral Satin Blouse was also £8 but down from £19.99. This was another petite range purchase and this one was even shorter. It barely even reached the waist band of my high waist jeans - not a good look for me. I don't particularly like the satin style material either. Time to return it.

I've been on the lookout for some heels that have a chunky, block heel and a bit of a platform that I'll be able to wear on my hen holiday. New Look shoes are one of my favourites so I was keeping an eye on their website for something that fit the bill. The Pink Platform Block Heels caught my eye and £25.99 seemed like a good price for a good quality pair of girly, summery heels. Let's hope they're as comfortable as they look.
