Hen Party Prep | Makeup Bag & White Dress

It's less than 35 days to my hen weekend abroad and I'm starting to get organised (well at least I think I am?!). From my hen weekend clue basket to little bits of information like I'll need a white dress I'm trying to start gathering essentials to make packing an easier, less stressful job in March. I'm still not 100% sure what suitcase I'll be bringing but I know I'll be taking my personalised Bride Makeup bag packed full of toiletries and makeup

When it comes to the toiletries I'll be packing a travel sized shampoo and a good hair conditioner will be a must. We might be in the sun or swimming pool and I don't want frizzy hair in photos! I've packed a fruity Bilou body foam which doubles up as a shaving foam for with my Gilette Venus Snap razor - which is fab for travel. I've popped a packet of makeup wipes in to make sure there's no too drunk/too tired to take my makeup off moments. Then as for makeup I'll have it all! A light foundation for in the day and a full coverage one for night time. Bronzer for a healthy glow (and to add to a possible tan/definite fake tan) and eyeshadow palettes for a smokey eye. I'll definitely be getting eyelash extensions done before we jet off and I'm considering Russian Volume Lashes.

Pretty much everything is still a mystery to me but I've been told to take a white dress for one of the nights out and everyone else will be wearing a different colour. A really simple but effective look and theme and perfect for a hen weekend. Choosing a white dress has been a bit of a mission because there's so many to choose from! The first dress I've tried on so far is this gorgeous Off the Shoulder Frill Dress from Wearall.com. This is perfect for a night out, I love the over the knee length and I know I'll be totally comfortable dancing about and not feeling like my dress is riding up. The Bardot, Off the Shoulder style is really flattering and quite sophisticated. And dare I say it I really like the bodycon fit, I've not been shredding for the wedding to not show it off!

The second white dress (that's slightly more cream than white) is a shift dress from H and M. This is another flattering option and isn't at all see-through, which is one of the biggest challenges of finding a white dress. I'm not sure if this dress is 'going out' enough for my hen night though. I think this one will be packed in my suitcase for through the day with a pair of flip flops and a belt to cinch in my waist. Perhaps my whole weekend will be wearing white...

My next mission is going to be a pair of heels. One of my bridesmaids said there's quite a lot of walking involved and that a pair of chunky heels is my only option. That's my usual style so I'm happy with that but I think I'll need to find a new pair. Any excuse, eh?
