2018 Travel Bucket List | Europe, North America & Asia

A month has already passed of 2018 but it's not too late to share my 2018 Travel Bucket List, is it? I'm already counting down to my first trip abroad this year (destination unknown - that's all explained here) and just days after our wedding we'll be jetting off on our honeymoon, which I'm so excited about. You would think that would be enough travelling to satisfy our travel bug but we've got a few other locations and holidays on our Wishlist and up our sleeve. Could 2018 really be the year we get married and visit 3 continents? I think I might need to win the lottery some time soon!

I'll start off with the destination that first got mentioned on the 1st of January and has never been thought about before. We did a few city breaks in 2017 and Krakow in Poland got brought up as a potential long weekend location for this year. I'm very fortunate to have good holidays at work and there's potential that we might visit Krakow this year. There's loads to see and do and we wouldn't be able to go without visiting Auschwitz. Flights are quite cheap and the selection of accommodation available make it the perfect last minute trip location.

San Francisco
I've wanted to go to San Francisco for years and finally 2018 is there year we're definitely going to visit the city on the West Coast of the United States; the home of Princess Diaries. San Francisco is the first destination on our honeymoon and it's going to be the part that's full of exploring and adventure. We want to do all the stereotypical tourist things in San Fran including a visit to Pier 39, a trip to Alcatraz Island and a bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. I've started looking into everything Fisherman's Wharf has to offer, options for keeping the other half happy at AT&T Park and how to get to the Walt Disney Family Museum. We're staying in the Union Square area which looks great for location, transport links and restaurants. All recommendations welcome!

I've always said I want our honeymoon to be packed full of sunshine and luxury, because if you can't do if for your honeymoon when can you? We need to have the chance to relax after the excitement and whirlwind of the wedding. Because San Francisco is the first place we're going on our Multi-Centre honeymoon we had to choose somewhere that matched in well, taking into consideration location and length of flights. Cancun in Mexico fit the bill perfectly. We're going for 5 star, all inclusive, lie back and do not much for the majority of our stay. That might not suit everyone but it suits us. I still want to see parts of Cancun and the place everyone seems to recommend is Coco Bongos - not sure how honeymoon-eque it is but we'll see.

When we were looking for honeymoon destinations I was drawn in by some Phuket holidays but they ended up not being the right places for us to choose in August. That doesn't stop the destination being on our 2018 Bucket List and instead we're eyeing up Thailand's biggest island as a potential holiday to end our year. December to March is seen as the best time to visit Phuket and how amazing would it be to bring in the New Year there?!
