Girls Night In - Prosecco Tea Party

With the weather being so cold, stormy and horrible recently I opted for a big night in rather than a big night out on Saturday and a Prosecco Tea Party was the perfect way to mark my 26th birthday. I gathered together my best friends, got my bake on and filled teapots with cocktails for the ultimate girly night in. Unfortunately I'm not a baker so thankfully Asda has some tasty baking kits (specifically the red velvet cupcakes and chocolate brownies), my mother in law made some delicious tray-bakes and also bought a big box of cupcakes as part of my birthday present. My friends are absolute babes too and got to work in the kitchen making a whole selection of goodies including cheese scones, sausage rolls, goats cheese tarts and cupcakes. As you can imagine the afternoon tea turned into evening and night time snacks and by the end of the night we were absolutely stuffed. Sorry Slimming World, it's only your birthday once a year and I didn't think about syns once!

It might have been a girly night in but that didn't stop us watching the rugby followed by The X Factor and I'm a Celeb, then listening to cheesy pop songs on Youtube. Watching Scotland win against Australia on the huge Panasonic Oled TV in the living room was like being at Murrayfield. We were on our feet roaring at the screen with excitement (and the prosecco hadn't even kicked in yet). Selina and I reminisced on the Steps and Vengaboys concert from last week while listening to some of the classics. We also had plenty of time for gossiping, discussing wedding and life plans and most importantly planning our next girly night out for Christmas. After all of that I was tucked up in bed with my hot water bottle by midnight (how old do I sound!?). I didn't even have a hangover on Sunday even though we got through quite a few bottles of prosecco. It was the perfect Girls Night In.

Outfit of the Night
Even though it was a night in I still got a little dressed up. I bought the jumpsuit from New Look the other week and couldn't wait to wear it. It was so comfortable and a really nice fit. And yes we were going to be inside all night and I could have worn slippers but my outfit wasn't complete without my gorgeous Primark Over the Knee Boots. I curled my hair with my Babyliss Curling Wand and I really like how it turned out, a little bigger than my usual beachy waves.
