2016 is going to be the year I get in shape. Okay, so I say that every year, but this year I am getting back into it! I think it’s important to set health and fitness goals for each year, and I’m going to share with you my fitness plan to get healthy. Check it out, and I hope you can use it to come up with your own great plan as well.
Get a Buddy Involved
Take it from me; keeping fit is a lot of work and effort. Some days it’s going to be the last thing you want to do. But, you need to try to keep up with it as much as you can, and that’s why you need to have a friend or buddy involved. Having someone else to exercise with makes it a more appealing task. It’s also great for motivation and inspiration. You can rely on each other to get through the tough parts of the process, and do what you can to keep each other positive. Just now I'm in full competitive mode when it comes to using my Fitbit. My boyfriend and I have a workweek hustle challenge and I'm determined to do the most steps through the week (again.) So much so I don't sit down to watch Youtube anymore - got to keep walking!
Sign Up to the Local Gym
The best way to get fitter is to have that drive and discipline, and it’s sometimes hard to get this yourself. The best thing for some people is to sign up to the local gym. You’ll find that signing up to a gym helps you stay motivated to exercise regularly. It also means you’re in an exercise environment where you can work out and feel good. You've got to make sure you're making the most of your membership money by going a few times a week.
Early Morning Runs
I think it’s important to have some sort of routine in place when it comes to keeping fit. And the best way to do this is to fit it around your busy schedule. For some people an early morning run is the best fit for their hectic life. An early morning run is something you can do every day, and it sets you up nicely for the day ahead. Dust off your trainers and create a new playlist on your iPhone. Then you need to get into the routine of getting out there and pounding the pavement each morning.
No Wine on a School Night!
Who doesn’t love a glass of vino after a stressful day at work?! Unfortunately it's not the best way to de-stress. Alcohol is not good for the mind and body. And drinking on a school night leaves you feeling a little fuzzy and lethargic the next day. As for the calorie content it's scary to think what they'd add up to after a long week at work. I’m limiting my intake to just weekends and see how that helps me. This is going to leave me in a much better physical and mental condition on a daily basis. And makes me feel less guilty when it reaches a Friday night!
These are a few of the ideas that I’m trying to implement this year. Getting healthier has long been an ambition of mine, and this is how I’ll go about it. Keeping fit is difficult and requires plenty of discipline and drive. That’s why I am going to try to use these suggestions to make sure I get fitter. I hope you’ll get some sort of inspiration from this list, and use it to help you do the same.
