Outfit of the Night with Luxemme*

Tis the season and all that... I've had a few nights out with friends and family to celebrate the festivities and this is the first of a couple OOTN posts. Feeling up to the minute in fashion but comfortable at the same time doesn't happen often but I was onto a winner with this Elodie Cape Flared Dress* from Luxemme. The fabric was soft and thankfully not at all see through (as some white dresses tend to be). The cape sleeves are handy if you're feeling a bit arm conscious but also add so much to an otherwise plain shift dress.
I paired it with black tights to cover up my very bruised, untanned legs, chunky black heels for a full night of dancing and a mixed metal necklace for some sparkle.

What do you think of cape dresses?
Do you cover up in black tights or always make sure to have the fake tan on hand?

Victoria's Secret Bombshell

Back in the Summer I was in the airport Victoria's Secret store spending the last of my Euros   and I couldn't resist the signature scent Bombshell. The fruity floral perfume is award winning with raving 5 star reviews.

With notes of passion fruit, peony and vanilla orchid it's a gorgeous sweet fragrance that's sweet but fresh. It's not too strong or heavy so it's perfect for every day. I find it lasts well throughout the day and gets compliments so much. It quickly became one of my favourites.

The bottle is typical Victoria's Secret wit the pink, the stripes and simple shape. It looks gorgeous on my dressing table and isn't too fancy to throw into my handbag for on the go too!

As for price, I bought this in a gift set in their semi-annual sale and got it with a rollerball, lotion and jewellery box for £30 instead of £36 for the perfume on it's own (or £60 for the set). £36 is a bit pricey but as a best seller it's often available in gift sets and features on their special offers so it's worth waiting.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't use it all up before I go to New York in April...

What brands' signature scent do you love?

Our Christmas 2015

Ready to host our first Christmas in our new house.
We were so excited to have both of our parents round for Christmas dinner and drinks. I love my Linea heart shaped placemats from House of Fraser but had to double up with some faux leather ones from Poundstretcher - they were a total bargain!

Christmas Morning Viewing
In the run up to Christmas we've been watching loads of Christmas films including Home Alone and Home Alone 2 on Christmas Eve as tradition. One of the few I hadn't got round to watching was The Grinch so we had it on Netflix whilst we opened our presents and started tucking into breakfast.

Chocolate Breakfast
It wouldn't be Christmas without chocolates for breakfast. We got these amazing Belgian chocolates in the shape of donuts in a hamper from Mark's parents. They look so realistic and taste absolutely delicious.

Countdown is over
Working with children the countdown to Christmas seems to start in November. I wrote and directed a Christmas play, we practiced for the Christmas church service, we made Christmas crafts and took part in Christmas themed brain teasers. Add that to decorating the tree, going to panto and eating my advent calendar I was truly in the Christmas spirit by the time the 25th rolled round.

Twinkly Christmas Decorations
After a last minute shopping trip on Christmas Eve's Eve I bought a couple of Christmas Decoration bargains. One was this dress mannequin decoration from Tesco.

Thanks Santa Claus!
Christmas was a very grown up affair for us this year which involved a washing machine being added to my Christmas wishlist. We couldn't cope without one for the 2 months we've been in the house so this one was ordered back at the end of October. A very practical present.

Roll on April
Back in November we agreed on a budget of £30 for Christmas in order to be able to book a holiday to New York in Easter. After going in 2014 I'm desperate to go back and I can't wait to get it all booked.

Presents Under The Tree
As a fully fledged grown up there was lots of practical Christmas presents under the tree this year, along with lots of tasty gifts. That didn't stop my friends and family getting me exciting goodies like pyjamas, jewellery and candles. I also upwrapped a popcorn machine which matches my slushy machine! I'm sorted for a party now!

Not Quite a White Christmas
The weather on Christmas day was beautiful and this snap from our house shows what a gorgeous view we're lucky to have. The fresh, crisp morning made for a lovely walk after present opening.

Christmas Dinner
Taking the stress away from one person we did a Come Dine With Me style Christmas dinner. Everyone did a different dish or part. We were on prawn cocktail duties which was probably the easiest. It all ran smoothly and everyone did such a good job. I loved my Mum's Terry's Chocolate Orange Cheesecake and scoffed my whole turkey meal.

Fun Times with Family
With a Christmas jumper theme, animal face mats and board games galore we had such a fun day with family. The day flew past and I'm sure I had a smile on my face all day (well maybe not when we had an awful start to Articulate!)

I hope you all had a great Christmas.
What was your favourite memory made, your favourite present received and favourite treat eaten?

George & Primark Haul

This is a pre-sales haul from the middle of December that's been tucked away in my drafts waiting to be posted. Everything will likely still be in store, but probably on sale!

George @ Asda
I was making an order online for a sequin shift dress (which ended up being so unflattering and sent straight back) when I stumbled upon 2 casual tops that are both work appropriate but so comfy for chilling out at home.

My Primark haul is a random mish mash of things from cosy and casual, to a total bargain for work, a night out essential and a Christmas must have.

Feeling Festive

1. Some reindeer were in town for a Christmas fun day and it was so cute seeing all the children get excited. It was great to see town busy and people spending money locally too.

2. A quick selfie before my staff night out. I had a great night, the food was delicious and the crack was good. I didn't feel so fab the following day unfortunately.

3. Part of the fun and games at work includes putting on a Christmas show. I was so nervous for my class but they did an amazing job - really did me proud. They were excited to have a 6 foot Olaf staring in their snowball fight seen too.

4. A slice of rainbow cake from one of my pupils was a lovely treat. Was a nice change from an apple.

5. A selfie at the start of Mad Friday evening. I loved my Club L navy sequin dress and my friend did a excellent job of my hair and makeup.

6. Nothing like a little game of party pong. Sourz and Passoa with dares and tasks underneath. I was proud of my hole in one.

7. The weather has been amazing but nothing like Christmas time! This view from my classroom was stunning on the last day of term.

8. Having a play around on Snap Chat while wrapped up in a blanket, watching Polar Express. What a Sunday!

9. My posh hangover lunch! I love smoked salmon and cream cheese on a bagel.
