Christmas Decorations Haul

I know it's way too early to be buying Christmas decorations but because it'll be our first year in our house we've got absolutely no decorations. We could wait until the first week in December and risk the shops being sold out of all the nice ones or we could buy them little and often on the lead up to December. Matalan has some of the nicest Christmas decorations already, and I don't think their whole range is in store yet. House of Fraser was actually quite affordable for good quality baubles and tree toppers and it was made even better by their 3 for 2 offer and my bundle of HOF gift vouchers.

Have you bought any Christmas decorations this year?
Any recommendations on where we can get a nice looking artificial tree?

Autumn Fashion Inspiration

I'm loving Autumn already. Granted we've been very lucky with the weather so far, the sun has still been shining and it's been very mild. Even so, I've been embracing the change in season and my outfits have been reflecting the chill in the air and the autumnal colours. There's nothing like a binge on Pinterest to help get you in the mood.

Rose Gold iPhone Disaster

After watching numerous videos of Youtubers opening up their new iPhones I fancied a change in phone cover to make me feel better about my toddler aged phone! You can always rely on eBay for a cheap cover and I thought I'd hit the phone case jackpot when this gorgeous rose gold case landed through my letter box. It was only £3.69 with delivery and arrived in less than 48 hours.

The case is a bit different from what I'm used to and comes in 2 parts - the bumper and the back. It was really easy to put on and was super shiny. I was feeling pretty smug showing it off to people. I was out and about all morning and didn't notice anything wrong. My 3G was working and my phone felt secure in the case. Then in the afternoon, once I'd returned home, I was struggling to check my emails, look on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. I was at home, my wifi was on and was working perfectly on my iPad. That's when my boyfriend mentioned... "Your phone case is probably stopping your wifi from working." Though it's an ultra thin case it's made of metal and seems to be blocking radio waves and interfering with my internet. It's fair to say I'm not feeling so smug anymore. In fact I'm pretty annoyed that my £3.69 has gone to waste and I'm back to a boring old phone case that I've had for donkeys.

Home Happenings: We've Got The Keys!

It's finally the 16th of October and we've got the keys to our first house. Let's just say as the date approached it wasn't looking promising for us getting in on time but thankfully it's all worked out.
I've taken "before" pictures and with the amount of decorating I want to do it'll probably be weeks until the first few "after" pictures start appearing but I'm looking forward to seeing some of the transformations.
I've spent all morning moving boxes, putting away all the kitchen and bathroom things and now sanding down all the skirting boards and door facings. Goodbye pink wood! It's been an exciting, busy and stressful day but I'm already starting to feel at home.
I'm a superstitious old soul, and with it being bad luck to move house on a Friday or Saturday we won't actually be properly moved in (and staying) until Sunday at the earliest! That gives us time to continue packing, unpacking and decorating. Unfortunately our internet doesn't get installed until the 27th so I think I'll still be spending quite a lot of time in my parents house until then!

October Break

I'm on my holidays from work this week and next. It's been a buys old time so far and before the madness of the move and decorating takes over I thought I'd share some snaps.

1. Autumn outfit for a retail therapy day. The worst thing about going from shopping centres into town is being roasting hot inside then freezing outside. Thankfully my scarf kept me cosy and my waterproof mac wasn't too bulky inside.

2. I was so excited to see Boot's Christmas gift range in store. The Soap and Glory stuff looks amazing this year. There will definitely be a few on my list.

3. I managed to resist buying anything from Top Shop beauty but how amazing does the nail polish stand look?

4. Whilst I'm trying to contain my excitement for getting our keys tomorrow I went into Laura Ashley a wee look. Everything is so gorgeous and the sale was quite tempting.

5. Comparethemarket.com has been great for helping get house insurance, broadband and energy suppliers all sorted. I'm not too impressed that our internet doesn't get set up until the 27th of October but we'll be so busy painting we'll probably not notice.

6.Anyone else loving the Snapchat updates? The bunny rabbit one is definitely my favourite.

7. I've been saving my House of Fraser vouchers for a while and I finally used them. This time last year I would have been buying MAC products and Benefit sets but this year I spent them on an iron and Christmas decorations!

8. I couldn't resist a bag of Terry's Chocolate Orange minis as a wee pick me up this week. Instant Christmas feeling.

9. I've been trying out some Hairaisers clip in extensions (post coming soon) and I was taking a wee selfie to show them off. They're so long you can't even see the ends.

NOTD: Autumn OPI Minis

If you've seen last week's Outfits of the Week post then you might have noticed that I've been loving wearing burgandy/wine shades. I didn't think I had anything similar in my nail polish collection until I stumbled upon a few OPI minis from sets like the Gwen Stefani Holiday Stars and Muppets Most Wanted. I've not used OPI in ages and I'd completely forgotten how good quality they are. I only needed one coat and they've lasted for days without a chip in sight. The perfect colour combination for a quick Autumn manicure.

Designer de Better and Kiss Me - Or Elf!
The worst thing about the OPI minis is the name is on the box and not on the bottle. I had to do a bit of investigating and I think (and hope) I've found the correct names.
What's your favourite Autumnal colours for 2015?

Home Happenings Haul

TK Maxx
The other week I had some spare time in town until my boyfriend picked me up so naturally I spent about 40minutes in TK Maxx. Gone are the days when I'd spend the whole time browsing the beauty and fashion aisles. I spent the whole time looking at the homeware. There definitely seems to be a baking theme going on though I'm not a massive lover of baking, they felt like essentials in a new home.

Matalan
I went into Matalan to look at their Christmas decorations (they've got an amazing range) and I spotted a 3 piece cookware set that means we're now fully prepared for all baking and cooking needs.

George Asda
My Granny gave us a set of towels that were a gorgeous bright blue/aqua colour and it inspired us to go with that colour scheme in our downstairs bathroom. Asda does good quality bath mats at good prices so it was the perfect place to buy one from.

B and M
Who doesn't love a nosey in B and M? My boyfriend and I wandered around every aisle and agreed on a few bits and pieces. The sharing plate looks good for parties and snacks, the clock is for our kitchen and the New York wooden letters will be pride of place in our living room surrounded by some of our New York photos.

Beauty Products Every Girl Should Own

Every girl out there wants to look beautiful. Of course, if you want to let your natural beauty shine through, there are some simple things you will need. I have to stress that this post is not about covering yourself up or making yourself look like someone else. No, it's about feeling confident in who you are and how you look each day. If you want to enhance your current look, here are some things you will need*.

1. An electric toothbrush
If you don't have a decent toothbrush, you have a problem. You need to get the best electric toothbrush for your teeth and use it each day. All too often, people neglect this area of their beauty routine. If you don't clean your teeth often, they will start to look yellow and dull. That is enough to ruin every look. You need to make sure that you do all you can to make your teeth sparkle. When you spend time on this aspect of your look, it could make a massive difference.

2. Night cream
If you don't moisturise your skin, it will never glow. Remember, these things don't happen right away. They take some time to work. You ought to invest in an excellent night cream that will suit your skin type. I recently tried a product from the Clinique range, but you should spend time finding which one works for you. Once you have a cream that works, use it on a regular basis. When you have done so for a few weeks, you will see that your skin improves.

3. Primer
Primer is a product that everyone should use, yet many people don't. If you want your makeup to last all day long, a primer is essential. There are loads of different brands out there that you should try. It is worth heading to a makeup counter and getting some advice from a beauty expert. They can tell you which primer will suit your skin type and how you need to apply it. Once you know that, there will be no stopping you!

4. Excellent lip balm
Since the winter is almost here, you need to think about investing in a lip balm. As soon as the weather drops, you will need this product 24/7. It is worth paying a little extra for this product. That way, you will find that it works wonders for your lips. Try a product that has SPF and moisturiser in it. That way, you will see that your lips are soft and smooth no matter what the weather is.

5. Coconut oil
When your hair begins to dry out, there is just one way to solve the problem. You need to get yourself some coconut oil for your hair. That way, you will find that you can put the moisture back into your locks. Before you go to sleep, you should rub the oil on the ends of your hair. Make sure that you wash your hair in the morning for the best results! So, why are you waiting? Get out there and get these products!

Clinique Moisture Surge Review

There's no denying we've jumped straight into Autumn. Mornings seem to be frostier, there's a chill in the air and a coat is absolutely necessary. My skin doesn't respond well to the change in seasons and as soon as the leaves start changing my skin starts crying out for moisture. I'm so glad I've got a supply of Clinique's Moisture Surge...

It doesn't take much for my skin to turn dry and flakey but boy does it take a lot for the dehydration skins to disappear. I've tried my fair share of moisturisers but this gel style moisturiser is a an amazing boost that really does work. I use it at night as well as in the morning under my makeup. It doesn't make my skin feel greasy and it certainly doesn't break my skin out. It's a lightweight, cooling gel that calms my sensitive skin and instantly gets to work. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft- it seals in moisture and gets rid of dry patches.

The price tag looks scary but when it actually works and lasts for ages it's worth splashing out. That old clique - a little really does go a long way. By the time I'm getting to the bottom of the tub I always wish it came in a tube but that's a pretty small complaint to make really. It's the product that really matters, not the packaging, and they got the contents 100% right for me!

How does your skin react to the changes in season?
