Spice Up Your Life (Slam It to the Left...)

It's not difficult for your life to get stuck in a rut. You realize that you're doing the same things day in and day out, with hardly any variation in your life. But you don't have to put up with it if you want more from life. There are lots of things you can do to enrich your life by doing something new. You just have to have the determination and the willingness to make a difference. If you want to change your life, try some of these things you can do to make it happen.
Work or Study Abroad
Getting experience of a new country is one of the best ways to change your perspective on life. You get to see a new culture, meet new people and perhaps brush up on your language skills too. You could choose to either work or travel abroad if you want to have a structured schedule but still experience somewhere new. You could study abroad in China in 2015, get a working holiday visa for Australia or even see if your employer has an exchange program.

Go Travelling
If you want to see new places but you don't wish to be stuck in one location, you could save up to go traveling. Go through your home country or visit somewhere else to see more of the world. You could go for a week, a month or even a year or more to give you some time to think about what you want to do with your life. You might just need a break, or it might give you a new perspective and help you choose a new direction.

Pick Up a New Hobby
You don't have to do anything too drastic or expensive if you want to enrich your life. Taking up a new hobby is an excellent way of changing things around. If you're bored, then find something to entertain yourself. You could find a fitness class or sport to enjoy, take a course to learn a new craft or just find a social group to join. I'm eyeing up B-Bounce at a local dance studio as something new and fun to try.

Go Back to School
If you want to expand your education but you're not sure about studying abroad, you can do it close to home. Going back to school doesn't have to mean giving up your job and going back into education full-time. You could take an evening class, do a part-time course or even complete an online qualification that you can fit around your work. I'm starting a post-graduate certificate in teaching dance in September and it's done at the weekend which is perfect for fitting around work.

Start a Business
Starting a business will give you something new to do and bring in a bit of extra cash. You don't have to run it full-time if you don't want to. In fact, it's better if you don't, at least at first. You can start a low-risk hobby business that's fun for you to run, perhaps keeping a blog or selling items that you make. It won't matter if you're not making much profit.

You can enrich your life in all kinds of ways. You don't have to settle for what you've got if it isn't making you happy, so make a change whenever you want.
