Building Self Esteem & Confidence

Having self esteem and confidence in yourself is very important. If you don’t like yourself, it’s impossible to feel happy and satisfied with your life. You can’t depend on other people or objects to make you happy; it all starts from within! So, how can you build your self esteem and confidence so you can finally be happy, whatever your situation?*
Pretend You Have Confidence
When you tell yourself you have confidence, and your actions reflect that, you will begin to believe it. Eventually, you’ll be a highly confident person. Walk tall, with your head held high. Smile, and focus on projecting the right image with your body language. Think confident thoughts and it’ll all begin to come naturally!

Note All of the things You Like About Yourself
Make a list of every single thing you like about yourself, both big and small. It can be anything at all; just write it down! You might love your clear skin, or your pretty hands. When you’re feeling low, look at it. Focus on these positives and forget about any negatives you believe are a problem for you.

Try New Things
Trying new things can give you confidence by showing that you are a capable person. Speak up in a class, do something you haven’t done before...just step outside of your comfort zone. It’ll be scary at first, but once you’ve done it, you’ll be fine.

Take Care of Your Image
Take care of the way you look and you’ll automatically feel better about yourself. Wear clothes you like, and groom yourself. You deserve to feel and look great! You don’t need to spend loads of money on clothes and beauty treatments, but you should take care of yourself. If there’s one specific issue, like a large nose affecting your self esteem, you could consider meeting with one of the best plastic surgeons. Just know that surgery isn’t the answer to everything!

Speak to Yourself Like a Friend
Keep negative thoughts out of your head by speaking to yourself you would a friend. Look in the mirror and tell yourself you look cute. Tell yourself you love your legs or your hair. Focus on keeping those self hate thoughts out of your head. If you wouldn’t say it to your friend, don’t say it to yourself.

Think Positive Thoughts
Positive thoughts can help with everything. Turn negatives into positives whenever possible, and try to look on the bright side of everything. As well as seeing the positives in yourself, see them in others and in your general life. You might find that your whole life improves when you start positive thinking.

Exercise can help with everything. You’ll look and feel better after just a few sessions of exercise - after just 1 session, you’ll be high on endorphins!

Cut Out Toxic People
Although your happiness doesn’t depend on others, toxic people can bring you down. Most people don’t realise they’re doing it, but you still shouldn't stand for it. If anybody brings you down, cut them out of your life.
