Girls Night Out: Makeup and Outfit

With one of the girls' birthdays on the horizon we had a little get together on Saturday filled with gossip, giggles and wine. It's always nice to have a catch up and even better when there's no hangover on the Sunday!

For my last night out I went for big curly hair and a dark smokey eye so this time I kept it a bit more simple and minimal. My skin's been a little bit dry recently so I started with the L'Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Smoothing Primer which is great for hydrating and smoothing skin. I used Benefit Boi-ing Concealer to cover under my eyes and the my break out on my chin before using Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. I love this foundation for a healthy glow and good coverage. It always stays in place for a long night too with a little bit of help from MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural. I used Benefit Hoola Bronzer to contour and then filled in my eyebrows with Benefit Brow Zings Light. I used my favourite mascara, Benefit Roller Lash, and then highlighted on the corner of my lid and just below my eyebrows with Benefit Eye Bright. I finished it off with Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter Creme Brûlée which is a brilliant spring colour. A pretty simple look but sometimes it's nice not to have a full face of makeup for a night out. I didn't realise until afterwards how much I rely on Benefit for a makeup look!

This outfit is definitely a reflection of the weather. I was originally going to be wearing a white lace skirt from Forever 21 with a bright coral cami and black wedges until I looked out the window and had a reality check. Unfortunately we can't rely on having lovely bright weather in Spring and instead some days feel like we're still stuck in Spring (it's just started snowing as I've been typing this!). With the rain pouring I had to change to a skater dress from Primark with tights and wedge boots from New Look. The colour of this dress, that's got little leather style sleeves, is definitely Autumn/Winter so fingers crossed this is the last time I'll be wearing it until the end of the year. It's a lovely dress though, really flattering fit and quite good quality. Paired with a chunky gold statement necklace from Primark

What's your hangover cure for after a girls night out?
