I can't resist trying out different foundations, especially from brands I've never used before. I've heard of New CID and followed their goings-on on Twitter so to find them on Hairtrade.com it's no surprise that I added the i-Perfection Colour Adjust Foundation to my trial list.

There are 8 different shades available on the HairTade website and though it's marketed as a Colour Adjust foundation you obviously have to choose the one closest to your skin tone. I went for Vanilla and to be honest I'm not sure it's the right one. It's a bit orange but blends in really well and seems to adapt to suit my skin.

i-Perfection Colour Adjust is a water based foundation which means it should be suitable for all skin types. It's fragrance free, which is great for sensitive skin. I was quite surprised by how light if felt on my skin. It didn't feely cakey or like a mask. It buffed in really easily with my Real Techniques buffing brush and left me with a light, to medium coverage. You have to be careful to avoid the completely sheer look.

Unfortuately, before long the foundation set and left a matte finish on my skin. Nightmare for my dry, dehydrated skin. I was left looking a little bit splotchy as it highlighted my dry areas. The rest of my face seemed to stay in place all day.

The packaging is nothing startling. The bottle feels quite light and cheap, it comes with a pump though which is really good. The window on the edge of the bottle is quite handy for seeing how much product is left. I don't think the packaging reflects the high-end price and style of New CID.

It's such a shame that it's not dry-patch friendly. I loved how lightweight it was and applying it was easy. Unfortunately I'll have to share it with my normal/oily skinned friends unless I find a miracle moisturiser to help me out.
