Eau Thermale Avène Soothing Hydrating Serum Review

French pharmacy brands have been the centre of a skincare revolution since Bioderma took the beauty community by storm. Obviously French brands aren't the easiest to get hold of in the UK but thankfully Escentual are cult product saviours.

Escentual were on the lookout for some sensitive skinned bloggers to try out hydrating product and I jumped at the chance. Any reader of Jennasuth.com would be able to tell that sensitivity and dryness are two things my skin majorly suffer from so this opportunity to try something new was definitely up my street. I was very quickly sent a package containing and lovely smelling serum.
Avène is a totally new brand to me so a little bit of research was essential.

Recommended by GPs, dermatologists, pharmacists and skin experts, Avène is a truly contemporary skin care product with years of research, heritage and results to back up its claims. The Avène Spring Water plays a fundamental role in every product, uniquely composed to be soothing and anti-irritating to users so that it may treat even the most sensitive and intolerant of skin.
Get a highly concentrated boost of repairing and protecting power for your skin with the Avène Soothing Hydrating Serum. This intensely soothing and hydrating formulation is ideal for sensitive skin, or skin that is easily effected by stress, pollution, or irritation. With its high concentration of Avène Thermal Spring Water, the serum works to soothe and heal the skin with each and every application. This soothing sensation has a long-lasting effect thanks to patented lipsomes, which work to diffuse the ingredients gradually into the upper layer of the skin.
Added Glycerine provides deep nourishment, hydration and comfort for the complexion. The silky serum glides on luxuriously, leaving skin feeling supple, smooth and soft.
Avène sounds like a trustworthy brand that's perfect for my sensitive, dehydrated skin so I put the soothing hydrating serum to the test over 4 weeks.
As soon as I started trying it out it reminded me of Hydraluron but with a bit more luxury. The packaging, the formula and the results all seem to be better quality. The serum quickly fitted into my skincare routine and before long it was second nature to rub the soothing serum in before my moisturiser. I really liked how cooling it was and was impressed by how much my dry skin improved. My skin was much more hydrated and felt a lot less tight, irritated and red. This little glass bottle of gel is perfect for sensitive skinned girls!
The 30ml bottle is quite small and compact but definitely seems like it'll last for a while. It doesn't take much to cover my face twice a day.
