Benefit: How to Look the Best at Everything Review

POREfessional
Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation
Boi-ing Concealer 01/02
Hello Flawless Powder

I love Benefit but sometimes I can't justify the price tag (They're Real Mascara, I'm looking at you). I do like their gift sets though, for trying out the products and finding out which ones are worth the cash. A flawless complexion is something I'm always trying to achieve so I gave this one a go.

The kit contains 4 products, a brush, a rather big mirror and some application info.
The primer consists of a standard 'deluxe' sample size of POREfessional and one that lasts quite a long time. The foundation looks a bit daunting but it's not that orange once it's on, though I still think a lighter shade would have been better in a light kit. It's a good size to try out, I used it all week and still have loads left. The combination of 01 and 02 Boi-ing is great for mixing and getting the right shade. The powder is simple and great. For once I actually liked the brush which came with the set, soft and handy.

Such a handy set for on the go, it's got all the base essentials. All I added to my makeup bag was a bronzer and mascara and I was set for my holiday makeup kit.

Are there any Benefit sets you love?

Sleep-In Rollers Review

I've had my set of Sleep-in rollers and hairdryer hood for almost a year now and it remains a firm favourite for a Saturday pamper session before a night out. After a lot of hype on Twitter and YouTube my Mum bought me the 20 roller set with hairdryer hood for Christmas. I have to say I'm glad I got that kit because I just don't have time for my rollers during the week because I get to school for 8am. Saying that, I've given it a go a few times over night and obviously it wasn't the most comfortable nights sleep but it's not impossible!

The rollers are easy to do and my favourite method of getting volume. Once you get used to how big a section to be and how tight to pull it into place it's quite quick to do. The big velcro rollers are fab, they lift my hair at the roots and give the 'blowdry' look at the ends. The smaller rollers are more suited for achieving a bit of curl but unfortunately I have too much long, thick hair for the 10 small curlers in the set. I hate drying my hair but LOVE the hairdryer hood. It's quite a convenient way of get my hair dry all over and I don't have to hold onto the hairdryer for 2ominutes.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Nude Eyeliner Review

Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Liner
Nude

When I first saw Rimmel's Scandaleyes eyeliners I was reminded of the Smashbox Limitless eyeliners without the hefty price tag. A cream consistency which glides on Scandaleyes is a well pigmented, long lasting product perfect for the waterline or eyelid.
This does a good job of cancelling out the blue/purple on my waterline which helps brighten my eyes. I've given white a go before but it tends to look harsh and too unnatural and nude seems perfect. Problems only arise when it comes to sharpening, the product is a bit crumbly and the packaging is quite tough, but nothing major with a bit of care.

A creamy long lasting eyeliner that doesn't break the bank - good work Rimmel.

Have you tried any of the other Scandaleyes shades?

Johnsons Face Care Cleansing Wipes Review

Johnsons
Makeup Be Gone Pampering Wipes

I try my best to use my cleanser, toner and moisturiser every night, even when I'm struggling to keep my eyes open after a long day at work. But after a night out I'd prefer to jump straight into bed, rather than using cotton pad after cotton pad to remove my makeup so good ol' face wipes come in handy. That's better than using nothing at all, right?

I've said it time and time again, I've got dry, sensitive skin. When a product says for all skin types I'm sceptical and worry that my skin will be left tight and sore. When I used these wipes the only thing that was left stinging was a blemish on my chin - not too bad a result!
'Removes even waterproof mascara' is quite a mean feat and with the word 'even' thrown in there it's almost like they don't believe it themselves! It does take a little bit of rubbing and tugging but most of my mascara and eyeliner was gone with the one face wipe.
The Moonflower aroma scent was pleasant and wasn't too overpowering.
As far as the price tag goes, it's a bit middle of the road and works out at 13p a wipe. Not too bad.
If you're on the lookout for some face wipes that aren't too wet, too strong, too smelly and don't cost too much for your night out skin care then it's worth a go.

Are you a post-nightout face wipe victim?

Primark Haul: November 2013

Compared to the last time I was in Primark I was quite impressed with their selection of dresses for nights out. I got one for my staff night out at Christmas and one that looks like a trusty dress you can turn to when you're not quite sure what to wear. I really like the heart print dress and think I'll be wearing it to festive gatherings when sequins aren't suitable. Oh and the main reason I went into Primark was to finally get a onesie. The school is dressing up in onesies for Children In Need so I had to get one.

Baby Lips Intense Care Review

After enjoying the moisture, colour and scent of the pink punch babylips (Pink Punch review) I quickly returned to try another 'flavour'. I use lip balms throughout the day so wanted to give one of the colourless ones a go.

Intense Care proved to be a handy little lip balm with added SPF and with bright yellow packaging, making it easy to find at the bottom of a handbag. It coped with the 35 degree heat of Egypt with no melting and kept my lips sunburn free and hydrated, that's a powerful lip balm! It's got nothing on the scent of Pink Punch but it's slightly sweeter than your average plain lip balm.

Do you prefer a hint of colour throughout the day, or does colourless hydration suit you better?

Kodak Catch Up #19

New nail varnish storage,  Car made out of two crates for Halloween, Can't wait to go a Boots spree, lovely news on a Friday afternoon.

Fingers crossed Santa has spotted this too, stay tuned for a Primark haul, Ready for Children in Need, Awful weather on a Sunday calls for a onesie day.

September/October Empties

Schwarzkopf Essensity Shampoo
I officially had this shampoo for months! It's a clarifying shampoo so I only used it once a week and it did such a good job at getting rid of product and clearing up my scalp. If I don't find another clarifying shampoo to try out I'll be repurchasing this.
Aussie Lucious Long Leave in Conditioner
I used to rely on Aussie Leave In Conditioners to get a brush through my hair after showers. Now that I use more intense conditioners on a regular basis I don't feel like I need this product so much, but it's a good one to have - and smells yum.
Wella Silvikrin Hairspray
I think this is a classic hairspray, I'm pretty sure my Mum has been using it for the whole 22(almost) years that I've been about. It's an oldie but a goodie.

Pantene Repair and Protect Shampoo
A supermarket purchase and one that I've since repurchased. A good old shampoo for keeping my hair strong and clean.
Pineapple Free Style Shower Gel
This was in a gift set so not something I'll be buying again. It was pleasant to use but was a wee bit too thick and scented.
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour Foundation
This is one of my favourite foundations. It's a good shade, good coverage and lasts most of the day. I've already got a new one ready to go.
Justin Beiber Someday Perfume
A celebrity perfume that shouldn't be scoffed at. I really like this perfume, smelt lovely and had good staying power. I've got loads of perfume though, so I personally won't be buying it.
Sexy Hair Organics Shampoo
Another shampoo bites the dust. If you're looking for a shampoo that doesn't have nasty ingredients I recommend the Sexy Hair Organics. Quite a mild shampoo that didn't cause any build up.
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
Another goodie from Rimmel. Not my first, not my last.
TRESemmé Platinum Strength Conditioner
I gave this a go after it was on offer in Superdrug and it's one I'll be buying again, even when it is full price. I like that it's a squeezy container rather than having to scoop out the conditioner like most intensive treatments.
