October Favourites

This was in my last favourites and I've been loving it even more so this month. I didn't expect to be going abroad and getting a tan so didn't have time to buy a darker foundation to match. I've been using this all over my face before foundation to darken it up and help match my slightly tanned freckled face.

After getting bored of the same concealer I gave this concealer a go and love it. A high coverage, blendable concealer perfect for under my eyes and on blemishes.

I was able to use this perfume a lot more after receiving a huge bottle from my parents. This rich scent is amazing for transitioning into fall.

7 of my days in October were spent in the sunshine so there is no doubt that my holiday to Egypt would appear in my favourites. I'd highly recommend Thomas Cook for flights and Red Sea holidays for both the service and hotel.

One of my favourite things about going on holiday is getting the chance to read my kindle wihtout feeling guilty. When life is so hectic I never feel like I have time to read but I loved being able to read over 5 books in such a short space of time.

White Zinfandel
Though I had a huge selection and far too many cocktails on holiday the not so pleasant rosé wine reminded me how much I love a glass bottle of Gallo White Zinfandel. Perfect for a night in watching X factor or a girly night out.

What have your favourite been this month?

Collective Haul - eBay, Strawberrynet, Sallys Beauty, Duty Free, New Look

I've been wanting to try a beauty blender for a while but missed out on all the cheaper variations so when I found it on ebay for less than £1 delivered I had to give it a go.

I ordered these after they were compared to the more expensive gold collagen masks. I bought these for only 99p, though the price has gone up now, for 5. I've tried them once already and really enjoyed adding it to my pamper night.

Borghese active mud mask has been well reviewed by many bloggers but I didn't feel like I could justify the £50 price tag. Thankfully Strawberrynet had a much cheaper alternative more or less because it wasn't in a glass jar.

Sally's Beauty Supply
I had to go to Sally's to buy some Barbicide for my Mum for work and I had a quick look around myself. I resisted buying any nail varnish, even though some of the Christmas gift sets look amazing and just bought a back combing brush.

Duty Free
My parents are just back from their holiday in Tenerife and they were lovely enough to bring me back a huge 80ml bottle of Lady Million. This perfume is gorgeous and a big favourite in the winter months.

£6 down from £17.99
I suppose this light pink colour isn't perfect for Autumn/Winter but I really like the simple bow print design. This is perfect for wearing to work or with jeans for a dressy/casual outfit.

Tigi Bedhead Extreme Straight Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Another treasure, who needs to rake around TK Maxx for a bargain when you can save over £7 on these 2 Tigi Bed Head classics?

I've tried a few Tigi products, many for helping add curl to my hair but recently I've preferred having my hair looking straight and sleek. With naturally quite straight hair I could go without the straightners but suffer from frizz. Both promise to help out of control frizz and aid straightness with a smooth finish.
Both shampoo and conditioner have a thick creamy texture which means attention to rinsing is essential to achieve the perfectly clean feel and avoid the greasy, too much product look. This creamy duo are quite impressive at protecting and improving the condition of my hair. An added heat protectant is a nice bonus and the frizz control is definitely noticeable.

I don't think I've ever smelt a shampoo or conditioner which smells like sweeties as much as these two! An extreme scent of sherbet if you've got a bit of a sweet tooth be careful not to be tempted to have a nibble.

Okay, so it didn't miraculously straighten my hair any further (quit a tough feat) but it did leave my hair feeling smooth and healthy. I highly recommend it but don't forget to add in a clarifying shampoo every so often to prevent build up.

Any other TIGI classics that you recommend?

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Review

A well known and girly scent Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy became a firm favourite of mine as soon as I tried it out. Not only is it a favourite of mine but it's one of those fragrances that always gets a compliment. A very sweet perfume, this scent is very floral with hints of vanilla and citrus. I find the vanilla notes develop some time after spritzing it.

The packaging is nice, quite typical of Juicy Couture I suppose. I'm actually a fan of the pink bow and simple bottle shape but if the bow is too much for you it's easy to take off.

The price put me off slightly and it wasn't until I tried it through the Perfume Shop VivaBox at Christmas that I got a bottle. I've since bought a back-up bottle as I don't want to be lost without one. £34.50 for 30ml it's definitely one of those perfumes you'd love to receive for a gift.

Do you have a favourite Juicy Couture perfume?
Do you prefer the Noir scent for a slightly more sophisticated scent?

Shoe Haul - New Look and Dorothy Perkins

New Look
Another year another gorgeous pair of riding boots. I couldn't resist buying a new pair of boots - they're perfect for the winter with jeans, dresses, skirts and leggings.

My current pair of black heels are in desperate need of reheeling but when that would cost more than the shoes did in the first place I would rather buy a new pair. These shoes have quite a sturdy heel, good size platform and lovely gold plate detail.

£7 down from £15.99
I can't resist a pair of pumps and these look fab when you need a pair that are a bit more dressy. Even better, they were in the sale!

Dorothy Perkins
I was on the lookout for some ankle boots that I could wear with dresses through the winter to keep my feet drier than my usual ballet pumps would. These are really comfy and are a flattering fit, not making my legs or feet look too big! Dorothy Perkins has a lovely selection of ankle boots but I like the studded detail on these.

Have you updated your shoe collection for Autumn/Winter?

NOTD: W7 Multi Dazzle Glitter Polish

I can't resist a glitter polish so when I seen the w7 dupe for OPI's Rainbow Collection I was sold. The mix of colours makes this the perfect polish for layering and on it's own. I was looking for a bit of sparkle for the weekend so went with 3 coats on it's own. I think I'll be trying this over black, white or nude next... or maybe as an accent nail.

What's your favourite glitter polish for A/W?

Clean and Clear Foaming Wash Review

With dry sensitive skin I tend to stick to creamy, exfoliating face washes, avoiding the foam ones which are known to dry out my skin. So when I was given the Clear & Soothe foaming wash to try out I was a bit hesitant. It's so different from what I'm used to using but it's been designed to be gentle on the skin. For the record, they've done well and I agree with their claims. It was perfect for my sensitive skin, there was no redness or tight feeling after using this and the fact that it's oil free is a bonus for when my skin is acting up. Clean and Clear have gone for mild ingredients for their Tough and Gentle, Clear & Soothe, range so I've been able to use this face wash daily. The 150ml bottle looks like it's going to last for a long time too. I've been using just over one pump each time I use it and the liquid barely looks touched. The wash foams up really well and smells nice too - really fresh and not too perfumey.

Quite impressed that I've found a foam face wash to use to keep those pesky blemishes away, without risking the tight skin Botox feeling!

New Look is clearly my favourite place to go for dresses!

Autumn/Winter Wishlist have some gorgeous new additions to their Autumn Winter collection and I'm clearly loving monochrome and metallics. The textures of both the waterfall jacket and leather jacket look so cosy for winter whilst the patterns on dress 2 and 4 look flattering on most body shapes. Who can say no to some sparkle at Christmas?
