7Days7Dresses New Look Competition Prizes

I was lucky enough to be the winner of the #7days7dresses competition which was held by Kirsty at in association with New Look. My graduation themed entry (which can be seen here) was chosen and as a result I won the 7 dresses I had used in my outfits. However, as I made my outfits before the New Look sale started some of the dresses had gone out of stock. So, I was sent the 4 dresses which were still available and a gift card to spend in New Look. I was so delighted and I wanted to share with you the dresses that I was given.

What do you think? Which dress is your favourite? Also, any recommendations what I should buy with the gift card?

Wardrobe Renovations

I've got a cupboard in my room which has acquired the nickname the 'Cupboard of Doom'. It was home to everything from Barbies to Hama beads, videos to fancy dress costumes, teddies to  board games. It was basically a dumping ground for all my stuff. If something was put in my cupboard it was very unlikely that it would be taken out or used again.
Recently I decided that I wanted to change my cupboard from a waste of space to a 'built in wardrobe'. I was very doubtful of it happening as I knew I'd need to convince my parents and find a place for everything inside it.
I finally got the ball rolling on Thursday by buying two large boxes to store my vast 20 year collection of teddies and TY beanie babies. These boxes were soon filled and put into the loft. Next I began to move any board games that we'd potentially use as a family into my brother's cupboard (cheating, I know, but he's moved out). Next was a mountain high pile of things to take to the charity shop and lastly the three black bin bags full of junk fit for the bin!

The cupboards starting to take shape. There is still a few boxes of things to be sorted through such as my collection of videos. Any advice with what to do with them? In reality I know that I'll never watch them again but I can't seem to part with classic Disney films.

I've decided the top shelf will be used to store a couple of boxes which are full of teaching resources ready for when I graduate next year. My suitcase, laptop case and sombrero, cowboy hat and cave girl bone will all be kept up there too hopefully.

My next steps include giving the inside a fresh lick of paint as it's quite dull and slightly covered in scribbles. My Dad is going to be putting a makeshift rail up just below the top shelf and the other two shelves will be taken out.

I need some ideas of how to store my shoes, as they will most likely be finding residence at the bottom of the cupboard.

I've spent some time searching for wardrobe pictures to give me some inspiration and I thought I'd share a few with you. If you've got any small wardrobe ideas please let me know!

Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara Review

I got the sample size (4g) from Glamour and intended on using it if I was travelling as it was a good size for keeping in a makeup bag. I'd tried it a couple of times and didn't think much of it as both times I'd only put one or two coats on. It wasn't until I took photos with the intention of reviewing it that I realised that this is actually quite impressive.

The wand is pretty darn big but doesn't actually make application difficult as the formula is quite dry. I actually really like this mascara for the bottom lashes, the drier formula means you don't end up with mascara all over the place as long as your careful.
The best thing about this mascara is there are no clumps! It's one of those mascaras that you could reapply and reapply and still be left with human like lashes not huge spider legs. This does however lead to the mascara not being all that volumising, but the length and colour are still positive factors.

This is a long lasting mascara, after a full day there was no smudging or black 'crumbs' (which people claim happens with the dry formula) so it's a good fuss free mascara.

I'd recommend this as an everyday mascara, especially for someone like me who has fair eyelashes and mascara is a must have product. The price is quite off putting and I think I'd prefer to keep my fingers crossed for more freebies in magazines or as part of Benefit Cosmetic Sets.

Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Shampoo Review

£6.39 250ml

It's a well known fact that blonde hair can quickly go brassy and look yellow. It's also quite a well known fact that purple or blue shampoos are the key to fixing this problem. I've been 'bleach blonde' for a long time now so I've tried many a shampoo which promises to tone and refresh blonde hair. Often these don't come cheap. I was a big fan of the Lee Stafford Hot Shots 4 Blondes but after my hair being tinted slightly purple after leaving it on too long I wanted to return to a shampoo which can be used more frequently. I decided to try the Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes shampoo when it was a 3 for 2 offer in Boots.

My first impressions of the shampoo was that it was a nice bright purple, which it should be. It also has the typical Lee Stafford product smell which is nice.

After only one use I was very impressed. My hair brightened up loads and most of the yellow brassiness which was through the sides and bottom layers were gone. The shampoo lathers well, which I like as it makes my hair feel cleaner. I usually use a deep conditioner after using a purple shampoo as many dry out the hair but for the purpose of the review I just used my usual daily conditioner and my hair didn't feel dry or damaged at all.

I don't use this shampoo every time I wash my hair as it is not intended for frequent use and you may end up with purple tinted hair. I use this shampoo about once a week in order to keep my hair looking bright and fresh.

I recommend this shampoo to anyone with highlighted or bleach blonde hair. It's such an affordable product and works amazingly. Obviously if your hair isn't a light blonde to begin with don't expect to end up with white blonde hair after using this product. It's not a dye, it's a toning shampoo - a good one at that!

FDavenue Dress

I recently bought this high-low dress from and had to share it with you. It's probably my favourite dress I've ever got from their online shop. It's really good quality and is quite a flattering fit.

Close up of the floral lace design.
High-low hem line with sheer material.
Concealed zip along the back.
Black lining underneath the sheer material.

I bought this dress when Fdavenue were celebrating their 1st birthday with a 50% off coupon so I only paid £9.99 for it. It's still available on their website and costs £19.99 but you can get 20% with the code JENNA20.

Silhouette Celebrity Hair

Carrie Underwood in my opinion has the most gorgeous hair and I knew as soon as I seen the tweet by Immediate PR that if I got the chance to take part in their recreation challenge that one of her looks would be my inspiration. My favourite of her red carpet looks was at the Billboard Music Awards this year.

I attempted to use the Silhouette Products*, along with my Babyliss curling wand, Tangle Teezer and comb, to achieve voluminous, curly, glossy hair just like Carrie Underwood's.

I started off by using the Silhouette Color Brilliance Mousse* when my hair was still a bit damp. This helped hold the curls in shape when I used the BaByliss curling wand and when I teased my hair at the crown, it held much better than my normal just washed hair.
My hair is as thick as Carrie Underwood's so I sectioned off my hair into three layers and curled my hair. Once all the hair was curled I teased the top section to add volume. To keep this in place I sprayed the Silhouette Color brilliance Hairspray* underneath and on top. I really like this hairspray as it smelt nice, didn't feel sticky at all and I could tease more without it feeling like my hair was going to break and fall out.
As Carrie's hair isn't perfect curls I ran my fingers through to loosen the top layer before adding some more mousse and scrunching it up. This brought the curls up and out just like Carrie's hair at the Music Awards.
To finish the style I sprayed the hairspray all over to hold in place and then sprayed the Silhouette Color Brilliance Extreme Gloss Spray*. This helped add some shine to my hair. Although my hair isn't dull, it is hard for blonde hair to look shiny. This spray does quite a good job and I didn't feel like it made it look greasy at all.

From using the Silhouette Color Brilliance products for this look I'll definitely be replacing my current hairspray (£4.15, 300ml) with this one as it help my hair for hours and didn't feel crunchy at all, which I hate! I don't tend to be a mousse(£5.40, 200ml) girl but it was nice to try and didn't have a wet look so was quite easy to work with. The Gloss Spray(£4.20, 300ml) is a completely new product to me and I think I'll be tempted to spritz my hair before a night out for an extra bit of shine.

What do you think of my attempt? If you were to recreate a celeb's look which one would you choose? If you've entered the Silhouette comp feel free to leave your link below, I'd love to see everyones entry.

Victoria's Secret UK Wishlist

With Victoria's Secret opening in London today and me desperate to go on holiday it's resulted in me browsing the UK Victoria's Secret website at all the amazing bikinis, hoodies and yoga pants in admiration. I'll not get the chance to go to the store any time in the near future, and lets face it I can't really afford to spend that much on a bikini I'll be lucky to wear a couple of times a year but I still put together a bit of a wish list.

Which ones your favourite? Are you planning on visiting the shop in London soon? Have you bought anything from Victoria's Secret before?
