Gorgeous Guess Watch

Hey Girls,

I won a giveaway on the gorgeous Becca's blog in September. The prize was an amazing Guess watch from H Samuel worth £129!! I entered because I don't really have a watch as I just use my phone for the time but as I was starting placement I knew a watch was a must have - you can't just whip out your phone to check what the time is.
I was so excited when Becca tweeted me to let my know I'd won and I chose the white watch and waited patiently for it to arrive. I was so lucky to win it AND for it to come 2 days before starting placement.

The postie was obviously mega jel of my win and decided to throw the box about so it's a bit bashed!

The watch comes inside this cute drawstring quilted black bag. I've been using this bag for carrying my jewellery inside my suitcase to stop them getting lost or tangled.

Here's the watch sitting on it's cosy wee cushion. How gorgeous is it!!
It's a chronograph watch with the day, date and 24hour.

Pride of place on my wrist next to my Disney bracelet from Disneyland Paris.

I did have to take about 6-8 links taken out of it as it was HUGE but I suppose it means it will fit almost everyone. But maybe it has slightly too many links as it was too big for my Dad when it first arrived.

The search for the perfect Christmas night out dress...

Christmas is fast approaching and whether it's a night out with the girls over the festive period or the work's Christmas night out you want to look your best and what better way to look and feel your best than buying a new dress. This can be expensive but after looking through funkydivaa.com it's proven that this search can easily be done on a budget.

I've chosen out 4 dresses that I've fallen in love with and may make an appearance on my birthday wish list in time for wearing from Christmas Eve right up to New Year.

I've been lucky enough to receive a discount code to use and share with friends and family that saves 15% on the total order: JENNA15. Simply enter it at the checkout and make a saving which can go towards Christmas pressies or a few cocktails while wearing your new dress ;)
This gorgeous Amy Child's style animal print dress is priced at £17.99. It's only £15.30.

This sequin dress is the perfect sparkly showstopper for your nightout. It's a bargain at £26.99 but an even better bargain at £22.95 with the JENNA15 code.

I think this dress is my favourite. It's a much cheaper version of the mesh panel dresses that appear in Miss Selfridge and Top Shop. It's £16.99 which works out at less than £14.45!

I like this last £22.99 dress. It's a bit more 'reserved' than my other choices making it perfect for the work night out and I think the bows really cute and girly - less than £20!

Funkydivaa have just announced that anyone who uses a discount code on their order, which includes JENNA15, will be entered into a draw to win a BarryM nail paint.

Clothing Haul: Missguided.co.uk, Quiz, H&M

October holidays from placement are the perfect excuse to update my wardrobe. I got a few things in Primark to get me ready for the colder Autumn days and the Christmassy nights out but I also found some extra pieces online and in Quiz and H&M. You'll probably notice that my favourite colour this Autumn is the wine red.

First up is a wine red lace dress. This style of dress is really flattering and I think looks lovely on. This one is from Quiz and cost £26.99. It's good quality material and I can't wait to wear it for nights out during the festive period ;)

Next up is this chiffon cardigan/kimono/jacket from missguided.co.uk. It's a gorgeous top for throwing on with skinny jeans and a vest top. It was £18.99

You can probably notice I'm a blouse/chiffon fan. I got this one from H&M for £14.99 and I tend to wear it open as it's much more flattering than closed as it's quite big, even though I got a size 10. This top is perfect with jeans and as workwear- I wear it on placement loads. My favourite vest tops to wear underneath are wine or turquoise as it adds a nice pop of colour.

Models Own: Disco Mix

Hey! Right now I'm on placement which means I get up at 6.30am, drive 20miles to get to the school to start at 8am, spend the day observing, planning, teaching, taking notes and getting to know all the children. The school day finishes at 3.10pm but I don't leave the school until 5pm. I then drive home and want to dive into my bed but I've got a million and 1 things to write up for my smelly teacher's file.

Enough of the moaning eh! Although it's tiring I do love it. I'm in a great school with great teachers and kids - which helps! But to the point, it means I don't have ANY time to myself. My makeup is minimal. My outfits are bland. My hair is just scrapped back. I don't even have time to paint my nails at night.

So I had to wait all week, putting up with the chipped nail varnish on my nails, to paint my nails with this gorgeous new polish that I got my hands on.

When Model's Own held their 50% off sale I wanted to get my hands on Disco Mix (super sparkly blue and purple polish) but it was already sold out by the time the sale started. So when Model's Own were giving away one on their Facebook page I entered straight away and lucky me won one of ten!

Now that it's finally on my nails I love it. It's so sparkly and a bit different from anything else I own. I think it's going to liven up all my outfits this week. I've put 3 coats on as only 1 coat didn't have enough sparkles and looked like a glittery top coat.

Stargazer Shake & Bling Challenge

Last week I noticed a tweet from the makeup company Stargazer about a challenge called "Shake and Bling". I was intrigued so I sent an email off and got a quick reply telling me all about it.

"Stargazer have launched the Shake & Bling challenge open to all bloggers. We would like you to come up with a nail design using just Stargazer products.

There are 33124 different combinations of nail designs which can be created using the Stargazer nail products so we’d like you to come up with one of those.

All we ask is that you blog about your creation and put up the image of your creation on your social media sites (twitter or facebook), deadline for uploads is 30/09/11 and winners will be announced thereafter.

We will pick three of our favourites to win a bumper goody bag of Stargazer products, winners will be announced on twitter and notified via email.

You may use any base and top coat of your choice, and then the four Stargazer products. So I will send you nail gems, and then you may choose your shade of nail polish, glitter shaker and nail art pen from the website: www.stargazer-products.com"

I'm not much of a nail design expert but I thought I'd give it a go. I requested a nail varnish in shade 157, a pink nail design pen and some gold glitter. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do but I was feeling inspired by my recent trip to Disneyland. I had a look through my photos while the nail varnishes were in the post and decided that these two photos would be my inspiration,

At first I thought I'd be able to do a silhouette of Sleeping Beauty's castle but soon realised I'd barely manage an outline of the Eiffel tower!

Here's what I used and how my "Eiffel Tower & Fireworks at Night" design turned out...

:( my nail art pen leaked everywhere!

What a mess I made with the glitter, it was everywhere! If I had more of the wee gems I think i'd have made the Eiffel Tower completely out of them but never mind, I'm quite happy with the final result.

Don't forget, theres still time for you to get involved! Send an email to dee@gettouched.com to take part, but you'll have to be quick!
